Variety has learned that The CW is developing a series about the DC superhero that would debut in 2019 should it get picked up. News of the development comes after the network announced in May that the character would appear in the annual crossover event between four of the CW’s DC shows: “The Flash,” “Arrow,” “Legends of Tomorrow,” and “Supergirl.”

Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter will also executive produce via Berlanti Productions. Geoff Johns, who recently stepped down as the head of DC Entertainment, will also executive produce through his Mad Ghost Productions banner. Berlanti Productions will produce in association with Warner Bros. Television.

Should the show get picked up–which seems more than likely–it would be Berlanti’s seventh show on The CW and 15th on the air overall, thus further cementing his record for most live-action shows on the air at one time.

Is she going to exist simultaneously on both Earth 1 and Earth 38, as Batman and Bruce Wayne have been confirmed in both Earths?

It's such a waste that the CW is the channel that is making these shows. Marvel is using Netflix. DC is using fricking CW.

Why is it a waste? As long as the shows are good who cares what channel its on.

It's a waste (to me) because they aren't good shows (again, to me). They are on the CW and their production values reflect this.

How anyone on this board can watch that corny shite with the way y'all nitpick everything else is beyond me.

To each their own I guess.

Thanks but no thanks.

I have my three - Arrow, Flash, and Legends, and I don’t care to add any more to the viewing schedule.

I agree with your assessment of the CW and DC shows. They try to be serious contenders, but they come off as pathetic and lame.

I wish it wasn't the case because I love DC comics/characters. DC has gone down the drain more times than not in recent years.

Same here. I may give this one chance. I have no interest in Supergirl even given that Melissa Benoist is

And if Benoist is the only reason to watch, then you might as well just look at her fappening pics

Because people like Millennials prefer their series to be on demand, not live TV. DVR is a thing but I don’t have one and the only ones I know who do are old people. Most people who are not balding use Netflix, Hulu, etc for their shows.

This show will probably get a mediocre following enough to keep it going for 2-3 seasons but it won’t touch the numbers that Marvel stuff gets on Netflix

That's a respectable opinion but not the reason why I made the comment about it being a waste.

DC's "lower-tier" characters (i.e. not their movie-level characters with the exception of the Flash, I guess) would absolutely thrive with Netflix/Amazon levels of production, in my opinion. Shorten the seasons and get rid of that "One Tree Hill" look and they'd kill it.

All of the Marvel shows on Netflix not named DD 1 and 2, The Punisher, and JJ 1 are mediocre at best. I would still much rather watch those over the 20+ episode seasons of crap on the CW.

Legends hit their stride this past season. It's a self-aware mix of Guardians and Quantum Leap that doesn't take itself too seriously. Their Groundhog Day episode (which they referred to in-story as their Groundhog Day thing) was awesome.

Supergirl and the Legion of Super-Heroes ended up being better than expected. The arcs this season with Mon-el and J'onn's father were damn good and elevated the characters to much higher levels. They jettisoned the lesbian soap opera stuff that was holding the show down.

Arrow and Flash are what they are. If you're not into the shouting and punching of Arrow or the angst of Flash, so be it. But both series are rewarding views if you stay for the entire season.

It's not Jessica Jones Season 1 or FX Legion stuff (but then nothing Marvel puts out on ABC and Netflix is). But it's good TV for a large fanbase. CW is happy with it, WB and DC are happy with it... lots of viewers are happy with it.

Everything doesn't have to be on fricking Netflix (which, by the way, all of these CW shows are on Netflix anyway, and On Demand, the CW App, etc.)

Warner is building content with their DC properties. So when they add a Black Lightning and a Batwoman and you're thinking, WTF, how many shows can they have?... They going to keep pumping them out so that they have a ton of stuff for their DC Universe streaming or whatever other distribution services they can come up with in the future. I'm all for having a ton of stuff to choose from right now.

Holy shite you completely missed the point.

No one is complaining about quantity. No one is debating mass appeal. I said from my own personal perspective, it's a waste because the CW style of the shows is horrendous in my opinion.

I don't care what channel/service any show is on. I care how good it is. It just so happens that all of the CW shows have a specific style, corniness, and overall shittiness to them that turns me off.

Mass appeal is completely irrelevant to me, and is not something that has ever stopped 99% of the members on this forum from complaining about stuff in the past.

Hey bro.....you have a couple thousand posts. You of all people should know it's a message board. A place where people come together from all backgrounds, interests, tastes, etc to "pontificate". Or are you advocating only post when you agree with something or like what the post is about? BRB......gonna go check your post history.
