anyone with the boxset ever watch the extras. half of the cast is from England, Scotland, etc. Damien Lewis who plays Winter is. I had no idea. Also, the guy who plays Doc Roe from south La. is too. I know they are actors, but it's weird that they are playing American soldiers and then hear them talk in real life. Still an awesome series. I watch it everytime it's on tv.

I knew that Damien Lewis is English and there were a few others, but I didn't know that half the cast was.

I have the boxset and I'll still stop and watch it if I'm flipping channels and it's on History channel.

I did not know that. Doc Roe (not the actor) is also from La.

Ahhh...the bi-weekly Band of Brothers thread is back. I've missed it.

Absolutely love this show, probably one of the best things that's ever been on TV.

There's a few guys who were in Lock, Stock, and Snatch who were all in BoB.

Really looking forward to the Pacific for 09

To me the best line of the whole series:

It has been a while but I think it was Winters when he was told at the Bulge that they were surrounded-

"we're paratroopers, we're supposed to be surrounded"

Does the fact that Jimmy Fallon is actually in this series bring anyone else down? I know it is only for 30 seconds but God I hate the fact that he was cast for the show.

"Why We Fight" is on right now, the one where they liberate the concentration camp. Arguably the most intense episode.

I have the box set and love it. My favorite is the interviews with the actual men that fought. Thank you Vets.

Speaking of those and the episode Why we fight, I've always thought it was weird that the interviews before that episode are basically the vets talking about how the in a different life the Germans and them could have been friends or had things in common, and they were just doing what they had to do etc etc and then the episdoe shows the one of the most atrocious act ever committed by a standing army.
