BoB could have been 20-30+ episodes as far as I'm concerned & I would watch all of them, annually, like I do the 10 we were blessed to get.

Have any of you read the book? I always forget about it, but might put it on my list this winter.

Yes. It's very good. You get a lot more detail and specifics.
Normally, it just isn't possible for a film/series to exceed a great book, but I feel that is the case here.
Whereas I like the book Blackhawk Down just a bit better than Ridley Scott's outstanding film, it is the reverse here - the series it at least a bit better than the book.

I watch it every year. My favorite thing ever put on film.

It is as well done as any mini-series, ever. Its only real competition for #1 is HBO stablemate, Chernobyl.
Wow . Totally agree

Absolutely love Band of Brothers and watch it at least once a year.
Had an uncle (mothers side) in the 101st that dropped into Normandy, Market Garden and Bastogne so Band of Brothers is near and dear to me.
When you finish BoB, make sure and watch Pacific. Totally different war front and enemy. The European theater and the Germans were one thing but the South Pacific and the Japs were a whole different ballgame.
Dad and three of his brothers were in the SP .... all the above made it home. I'm sure they were not the same but, made it home without being in a wooden box.
