Tickets go on sale at 8am CDT tomorrow for Doomsday and the rerelease of Endgame (with 7 mins of extra footage). Don’t miss out before the “infinity vision” sells out. Infinity vision is just a made up title for premium formats other than IMAX, so Dolby, 4DX, etc. I still have no idea why they chose to release same day as Dune 3 knowing Dune has three weeks of IMAX exclusivity.

There will be a teaser during the World Cup final and the trailer will release on Friday after it premieres at comic con.

quote:

• The studio will open ticket sales five months early for Infinity Vision theaters — the large-format designation that the studio has announced for select Doomsday theater screens. Disney created the Infinity Vision brand in the wake of Warner Bros. locking down Imax theaters for 'Dune Part III' for two weeks after both films are released on Dec. 18.

• The early ticket sale plan also comes with a runtime for the film — 165 minutes (2h45m).

• Disney will also offer Infinity Vision tickets for a re-release of 'Avengers: Endgame' coming Sept. 25 (titled 'Avengers: Endgame Encore').

From what I’ve read, they are adding a post-credits scene to lead into Doomsday. Basically, they are invalidating everything that’s happened since Endgame so nobody feels obligated to watch the Disney+ shows or bad movies.

quote:

While speaking at the Sands Film Festival in April, co-director of both movies, Joe Russo, described the re-release as a "critical companion story" and a "setup for what you’re gonna watch in December when you see Avengers: Doomsday."

"It’s critically important to re-release the movie, and, in fact, we’ll be re-releasing the film with footage that is set in the Doomsday story that we have added to Avengers: Endgame."

"It’s an opportunity to create a bridge from Endgame to Doomsday in a very unique way, and because the movie was so successful, we have an opportunity to re-release it," he added. "You don’t always get the chance to re-release because it costs money, so the fact that we can enhance the story of Doomsday by bridging it to Endgame and these characters that we worked with for years that we love so much, and continue their story: It’s a really unique opportunity."

Seeing Endgame again in theaters is intriguing, but 7 more minutes of footage isn't a selling point for me.

A franchise loses its luster when you keep bringing back people who supposedly moved on.

Hasn’t even been 10 years since endgame (they should prob change that title now) and Chris Evan’s is already back as captain america? lol what happened to the black dude he passed the torch too?

It lost its luster with a string of bad movies and Disney+ bloat. Bringing RDJ, the Russos, and Evans back is their last attempt at relevancy.

Sam is still Captain America. From what I’ve seen, Evans is in jeans and a t-shirt so it seems they spent so much bringing him back, they couldn’t afford to give him a costume.
