Does anyone know where I could stream Avatar: The Last Airbender? It used to be on Amazon Prime, but they pulled it a year or two ago. My son wants to watch the series again.

We found it on the Nickelodeon app, but all of the commercials are a total dealbreaker. I don't want to spend $90 on the BlueRays.

Ahem. Allow me to say, for the record, that while there are rumors of a site called watchcartoononline.com I have never frequented the site and I have no idea if the rumor that they pretty well have every cartoon and most anime ever created up there to stream is true.

I would not suggest you go there, click on the cartoons section, and then scroll to the bottom of the A's where, hypothetically speaking, Avatar: The Last Airbender would be listed.

What about $29.59?

LINK

I received that and the Legend of Korra set ( LINK) for Father's Day from my wife to watch with the kids. We've finished TLA and are on season 1 of LOK. The kids have been loving it and I could see myself watching it with them again in a couple of years.

Just a fantastic show. I remember watching them all with my brother over the years. The plot is original and well done. It's one of the best "children's" cartoons of all time.

$30 is doable and worth it for a high quality copy.

Amazon wanted $30/season to stream. That was undoable.

You'll get no argument from me. The first time, he was watching the show and I was reading a book. After a few episodes I realized I wasn't reading my book anymore. Got totally sucked in. Good themes.

Not a chance. It's certainly great, but not the best.

I feel relatively confident that JJ planned for the trilogy to have roughly the same plot as The Last Airbender. He wrote an episode of the series so it’s not like I’m flinging shite at the wall here. First off I do think he took the characters from the series and planted them into TFA:

Aang/Katara were combined into Rey
Finn is partially derived from Sokka
Kylo Ren is very clearly modeled off of Zuko. Both have major daddy issues, are amateurs at evil, and even have a scar on the left sides of their face.

TFA really follows the first season of Avatar. They both start off with the villain raiding a small village looking the messiah that can defeat the Empire, the heroes escape from the Empire, the protagonist is eventually captured and brought to an ice fortress, manages to escape, defeat the villain and then bring about the Empire’s first major defeat.

He left the rough drafts for Rian Johnson, but save for some set designs (which also have similarities to some sets from Season 2 of Avatar), he threw everything out and fricked the franchise over forever. Now JJ is left with his dick in his hands having no idea what to do.

The good news is with Crazy Rich Asians doing so well that they may gamble on doing live action remake of that abomination theatric adaptation of TLA, but I’d want the trilogy to be shot simultaneously with a great director.

It is exhausting seeing nearly every thread on here turn into an excuse to talk about how much Star Wars sucks now, so I'll just say that I really think you're reaching and leave it at that.

And I hope they take another shot at a live action adaptation of TLA, because I feel like it could be fantastic.

Although I thought it impossible to do so, you just made me hate the new SW even more.

A:TLA may not be the greatest animated series of all time, but it's certainly in the conversation. Just really well done all the way through.

If Rey is their version of Aang then I thank God they didn't try to do Uncle Iroh.
