Laurel is too busy drinking to eat.

I would still like to bend her over that barrel and show her the 50 states.

Did they audition all the actors from Spartacus?
You say that like that is a bad thing.

I remember watching spartacus (the first season) and loving it. I took a two week break and started the second and was like DA FUQ is this guy. Found out the main character died of cancer (i think). A lot of feels were had that day.

Spoiler alert:
Suicide squad! Hell yeah!
Considering they've already had Count Vertigo and Deadshot as villains in the 1st season, I figured they would go in that direction once Bronze Tiger and Amanda Waller showed up earlier this season.

I love this show but I'm a little worried if the writers have bitten off a little more than they can chew in season two. We have three different threads that look to be developing as we get into the final half of the season:
1) Slade Wilson/Deathstroke and Sebastian Blood. What's their end game? Obviously Slade wants to kill Oliver but Brother Blood has to be in this partnership for something else.
2) Ra's Al Ghul and the League of Assassins. Where do they fit into all of this? Will they eventually come to overshadow Slade and Blood when/if Sarah refuses their overtures in the next episode? Could Ra's Al Ghul be behind Slade Wilson, thus making him the main antagonist?
3) Amanda Waller. What the hell is she up to? Obviously this Suicide Squad of hers is going to play a pivotal role in events to come. But how and why?
There is so much starting to be set into motion that I am starting to become concerned that the writers may have screwed themselves. I hope there is a good resolution of all these threads at the end of the tunnel.

yeah there are way too many subplots. I wish they would focus on the Slade Oliver deal, then switch over to Ras al ghul/league of shadows plot. Episodes like tonight are kind of what make the show slower than it needs to be. I did like the episode fwiw

this way there are no filler episodes

I think they will probably wrap up Blood in this season, but leave Slade to linger around for future seasons. Same with the League of Shadows and Waller. I could see them linger for multiple seasons. Keep in mind that villains linger forever in comics, so I would expect that to take place to some extent for this show as well.
With that said though, I was pretty surprised when they brought Malcolm Merlin back from what appeared to be a pretty convincing death. Hopefully they have a good explanation thought out on how he survived .

I don't know how you can have Brother Blood without the cult of Trigon...and if you have Trigon, you have to have Raven...

I think Brother Blood is in it just for the power that comes with being involved in all this, specifically mayor of the city.
League of Assassins and Suicide Squad idk. I feel like the League has a purpose with them being involved with Merlyn and Sarah, but not sure the payoff will be this season. Squad seems like something that it going to be done a secondary storyline through the series.
I'm a fan of all these storylines though, it gives each scene a purpose usually avoiding pointless filler just to make a small point at the end of the episode.

i agree with pretty much everything you said. i love that there is so much going on. i wouldnt expect all of these things to be wrapped up by the end of the season. the only thing that will be will probably be brother blood.
not sure if someone mentioned this, but they also threw out that Slade had a son, which is a big character in the comics. love that they are setting up so much for the future.

General newbie to this thread, but I go back in time to DC comics (Green Arrow) way back in the day ('50s-early '60s). In general, I didn't like the character back then - no particular super powers, seemed dull, like a spoiled rich guy. BUT this CW rendition of Arrow (with a fabulous cast, super scripting, great filming and techie updating and some maturity on my part) has changed my entire viewpoint - this is one kickass DC character. Found Arrow on Netflix by accident one day about a week ago; I'm flying through the entire first season and I'm loving it.
So anyway, just for giggles, I'm speculating what real city Starling City is a surrogate for. I like doing that with Metropolis, Gotham City, Central City, and other DC and Marvel venues, etc.
My guess is: Starling City - it's Detroit. Probably all of you knew that already. Or else I'm entirely wrong.
ETA: Finished Season 1 on Netflix last night. Now I've got to wait for them to get Season 2 since I didn't watch any on CW this season and my cable has no "on demand" for CW. From what I'm reading from y'all along this thread, Season 2 is going to be pretty amazing. Can't wait!

Na. These guys have done a good job already. Clearly SS will linger a bit this season, band together, make some choice appearances and probably be more influential later on.
I think Blood gets wrapped up this season. Merlin is a weird one though. I'm not sure what they do with him, except tie him into the League.
I think the League will be the consistent presence throughout the series. Sometimes pulling larger strings, sometimes being absent for more than a few episodes. Always there. Don't expect that to get wrapped up in full until the end of the show.
I do wonder if we'll ever get Ra's.
