i hope this series of episodes puts that edge back in Oliver we saw in the early seasons and on the Flash last night. with so many friends around him, he has kind of lost that chip on his shoulders. maybe it was intentional to set up this moment with Ra's.

Surprised me simply for the fact that in the comics he is dead, which is one of the major plot points for Katana's storyline in the comics.
But with that said, it should make a nice storyline for this season, and tie the flashbacks to the present.

I'm pretty sure when they announced her casting, they said she'd be Katanna.

i think this is the case as well. so maybe he dies in the present and she then becomes Katana, using his sword.

The showrunners did call her Katana when they announced that's she'd be in this season, so hopefully they will stick to that. Maybe Oliver and Katana think he dies in the flashbacks, and then his appearance with the LoA is a surprise to Oliver. But even if that is the case, then I still don't think he makes it out of this season alive.
