I started watching the first season on my plane ride from Dubai. Not bad, seems like a poor man's Smallville. What is the MTBs opinion? Should I keep watching?

Better than Smallville. Written for different audiences. It actually gets much better by season's end IMO.

A very good show that becomes great for what it is.

What channel is this on, how many seasons, and when does it air?

There was a similar thread about two weeks ago. I'll echo what I said in that one.
I really like Arrow. It has a certain level of cheese, but so does every comic book property not made by Nolan. The storytelling is really good and the characters are easy enough to like even if the acting isn't always that great.
I'm working my way through Smallville now. In season 5 right now I think. I started with the last episode of season 2, because that's when I decided to start DVRing it. It's tough to watch sometimes. Story, characters, and acting are all questionable regularly.
And Lana Lang would have committed suicide sometime in Season 4 if she were a real person. She's led the worst existence of any character I've seen on any show.

I can't think of a more concise and accurate answer than this.
It's written better than it even needs to be if that makes any sense.

Judging by the way I keep watching Smallville despite the problems listed in my previous post, I know exactly what you are saying.

I understand your pain.
You're going to be a happy man once you meet Erica Durance as Lois.

She's been on for a while now at the point I am in the series. I really liked the episode where she had to be a stripper. And the episode with Aquaman when she went swimming a lot.

at the notion Nolan's Batman movies are cheese free.
as for Arrow, I really like it even though I am just now finishing the first season on NetFlix.
After watching it back to back with Agents of SHIELD the other day I was a bit surprised at just how much more violent and gritty it is.

Like every show on CW, it's a homoerotic show with horrible writing and casting.

Wasn't really the point of my post, but Nolan's intentions were certainly to be as cheese free as possible. I'm just saying that Arrow doesn't burden itself with that unnecessary limitation.

If you haven't watched it, don't comment on it. And it's obvious you haven't watched when you say the writing is horrible.

Just ignore him dude.
Troll's find their way here every now and then, and this board is the best at chasing them off via lack of attention.
If I was technically inclined I would come up with a gif of the numerous season 1 salmon ladder scenes. There were so many.

I'm a little on edge since I ordered the first 3 volumes of Immortal Iron Fist 3 months ago and Amazon cancelled the orders for 2 and 3 since they couldn't track down the items and Volume one only shipped on the 10th of this month.
I may tweet Matt Fraction about it.

Have no clue. Started watching it on the plane and am catching up via primewire. It looks like Season 2 started, but am not sure.
I am more interested in the flashback story arc instead of the current arcs.
I think there should be an Arrow drinking game where you have to take a drink every time Oliver Queen says "5 years on the island" or takes his shirt off. People would be bombed in the first 20 minutes.

I think it's that they aren't printing any new ones. It's a few years old. It was the first book Matt Fraction and David Aja did together, they do Hawkeye now. I got pretty interested in the character watching Ultimate Spider Man oddly enough.
Reading up on his origin, it seems like if they made a movie on his story it would very closely parallel Batman Begins.

I was the same way. That'll change towards the end. As in you'll be interested in both equally.
Season 2 started last Wednesday.

That's what I'm talking about with the salmon ladder crap. How many times do we need to see that?

No shite . They may as well have cut scenes to American Ninja.
