I can't even remember how the last movie ended. They saved Zion but the matrix still exists?

They continued the story through an online game since Revolutions but I think no one gives a shite anymore.
Revolutions was so godawful that I think most people pretend it never happened.

I'd love it if I thought we could get something on par with the first Matrix. All their recent stuff has been hot garbage, though. The chances they reverse a 20 year downward spiral in career trajectory...

The matrix 1 was lightning in a bottle, and even had some terribly written scenes and dialogue, then 2 and 3 were completely off the rails.
I did enjoy the deeper questions of all 3

Bingo. I can appreciate the original Matrix for how awesome it is and have watched it dozens of times. Outside of seeing each of the sequels once in the theater, I've never seen them ever again and like most people pretend they don't exist.
