I don't think anyone is shocked. Hopefully Shazam comes through in the clutch. It's the only one I've been excited about since Man of Steel let me down.

The trailer looks like a parody of a comic book film. It will be damn near unwatchable just like every other DC film. They need to hire James Gunn torun their whole studio

They shouldve never replaced Vinny Chase with Jake Gyllenhaal

No. It looks like a comic book.

Your brain is thinking Nolan, when it needs to be thinking DC.

It'll be a safe film, this is pretty much what I was expecting.

People rail against DC for not following the Marvel Studios method. Now that a DC origin film is critiqued as being at a Marvel Phase 1 level, it’s not enough.

I've seen it compared to Thor 2 in terms of quality. Not good.

Even for DC where the bar to produce a good movie is really low, reading stuff like this is sad

You are miserable when it comes to DC Universe films.

That was a pretty positive article. I surely didn’t expect this to win Oscars- but I want it to be enjoyable, tense, comedic, action packed, and well written. I don’t think anybody’s saying that’s not the case- just that it’s not GREAT!! Collider quote is “I’m hearing good things”.

I mean, the trailer looks fine?

I think there's actually something to the Thor comparison though. I think Mamoa can grow into that role more and more and have the comedic relief type aspect grow to really make him a staple. I think most people can agree that Thor in Ragnarok is world's different from where he started out personality wise.

DC is the one they decided to do Doomsday and a Worlds Finest teamup in the second movie out the gate. And you wonder why people are disappointed. The Avengers was what it was because of the buildup.

Just saying.

And now they make a “Marvel Phase 1” movie and people see it as “sad”. You wanted them to act like Marvel. Now they’re acting like Marvel.

They could make another Dark Knight and people would still say, “Yeah, but Batman V Superman...”

And all I ever see on here is how great the MCU is. Why are we moving the goal post all of a sudden?

I agree with this. Aquaman can be a fun character.

Certainly not a bad movie, but it lacked humor and Thor seemed so underpowered.
