It's been awhile since watching it, so maybe it doesn't hold up today...but I've been wanting to see it again, because it was such a "go to" movie back in the day. Newbomb Turk was a semi-legend in my high school & college days, lol...
Fun story: a buddy & I were watching it years ago, and this girl we were friends with came over about halfway through. After 15 minutes or so, she said "This seems really familiar to something my uncle made a movie about". We asked her who her uncle was (Floyd Mutrux) and the name of the movie, and she correctly named both. She'd never watched it before, and she didn't have any idea it had a bit of a cult following

The one-armed violinist
Gentlemen, let's spike the punch
Yeah, it's LCD-type shite, but it was funny to me

The film had a vague resemblance to both Midnight Madness and Porky's, films made around the same time (and with at least a cult following) - as well as the somewhat earlier American Graffiti.
I liked it. It had a bunch of actors who were way, way too old to be in HS, but that was the tradition back then, particularly with the model set by Grease. It was also a very early film appearance for Tony Danza (despite his success and visibility from Taxi, had not appeared in a feature film before), Stuart Pankin, Fran Drescher, Robert Wuhl and all in relatively prominent roles. It's like a time capsule.

When they released it on DVD years later, they really oversold Danza & Michelle Pfeiffer's roles in the movie by putting them on the cover....when really, guys like Wuhl and Stuart Pankin were the ones who stole the show.

It's been awhile since I've watched it in full, but do we know for sure they were all still in high school? Some probably were seniors, but some others struck me as HS hanger-ons moreso than current students, but I could be mistaken...

Yes - and most of the principal cast were late 20s to early 30s - I call it "Grease" syndrome, and it's okay.

When Newbomb finally gets Fran Drescher in the back of the pie wagon was a great scene.

We watched it at my friends bar years ago and found that it was not quite what we remembered but still had great scenes

Very funny movie. Newbomb was the best. Anyone remember The Groove Tube or Flesh Gordon?

The entire "did you cum" scene was hilarious as both actors sold it perfectly.
