First season was okay. Second pissed me off. Literally. Never had a show actually do that. Absolutely hated the plot, every single character... you get the point.

An emotionally manipulative show.

if you search "best of" in 2016 (S2) and 2017 (S3) its on almost every top 10 of the year list and most writers, including Alan Sepinwall have it as their favorite of the year

I liked Seasons 1 and 2. Season 3 was good, but not as good IMO. I can't tell you how many scenes brought me to tears. I may have to rewatch soon after I finish Black Sails.

Top 3 favorite show all time.

Other shows rotate in and out but Leftovers is always somewhere in my top 3.

I've always considered Deadwood the greatest drama in TV history because of the acting and dialog.

But Patti, tied to a chair, quoting Yeats may be the most powerful scene I've ever watched on a TV series.

I can't believe you don't like the first season. IMO it is one of the best series of all time and it only gets better. So, yes, keep watching.

Season 2 was the best single season of television I've ever seen.

It's amazing.

I agree. I recommended doing a study on it to my Sunday school class. Lol

Nobody had heard of it but there are so many biblical references and deep thinking in that season and S3 I thought it would be a good group study and discussion.

That explains why I didn’t enjoy it.

Yes, it gets much better.

I started watching it when it first aired, but quit after ~4 episodes.

I revisited it prior to season 3. Somewhere mid/late in season 1 I got hooked. Loved the last few episodes of season 1 and all of season 2. Watched season 3 live week by week, which I almost never do. Season 3 was great, too. I don't know that it ever totally "makes sense," but it is a unique experience and one of my ATF shows.

Amazing show. Thought the first season was a little out there but interesting none the less. Season 2 is some of the best television I’ve ever seen and then Season 3 was amazing but I feel like the journey was better than reaching the actual destination. The theories that were being thrown out reminded me a lot of True Detective Season 1 with the theories and intrigue of the unknown.
