why does that even matter? Since you can see any female in a swimsuit, don't bother checking out the one who is in the show the thread is actually about?

I had issues with Monica but I liked her. Her character was written poorly but what I liked about her is she made Kaycee and Tate better.

Now that they've essentially made Kaycee a person with no counterbalance to keep him stable, they put this guy on a PG-13 Network procedural with tamped down language and less intense scenes.

Did anyone catch the label on the prescription bottle that Kayce's ex-Seal buddy was taking? Dude had made reference to spending years "crushing pills" after getting out of the SEALs before finding new meaning in the Marshals. But that scene seems to indicate that he's still got his demons.

It was about what I expected for network. It’s just formula fiction, like NCIS or CSI but with a Dutton.

I watched it last night, and I agree with this. The only relation to the Yellowstone Universe are some of the characters. Its basically NCIS set in Montana.

This is why Longmire was so good

Plenty of division on the res in Longmire

That'd be a good plot twist. Casey recruits Rip to the Marshalls.

That would be fun to watch. It would make this show better.

I still think the better ending to Yellowstone would have been to have Rip show up to Jamie’s house to stop Beth from killing him only to have Jamie, as he’s bleeding out, spill the beans about Beth aborting Rip’s child causing Rip to rage kill Beth. He rigs the crime scene to make it look like they killed each other and walks away from the Duttons forever.

But all of the wine moms would have put on their pink pussy hats and “peacefully protested” while burning down their neighborhoods.

EP 2 dropped last night..

It was a better Episode given it's a CBS Network Procedural/Military type show.

The Train station came into play and Kaycee was an nervous as a hooker in church about the whole issue. That said., he was able to make another deposit.

Rip got a name drop.

This is a group of misfits that's going to become a super elite unit on a PG-13 show.

Didn't Lloyd say no one lived within 100 miles of the train station and that's why they chose that spot?

I'm hoping this show doesn't turn into just another cop show where they always get their guy and no one is really in any danger.

The last bad guy was just a re-do of the meth lab explosion. Not sure why Kayce had to hide the body. Seems like the team would have been fine with how he handled it. Now, it raises a question about what happened to the last guy.

Of course the a-hole boss has an axe to grind with the Duttons. Trying to remember if he showed up somewhere in Yellowstone.

Still like the blonde with the great rack.

Guessing Kayce eventually bangs the dark haired chick.

Yeah, I didn't get why he dumped the body. Seems that would raise more questions.
Kayce is grabbing rattlesnakes bare handed now.. Impressive!!

After watching the 3rd Episode, I'm about done. It was a very generic episode that CBS has used many times in the cop/procedure/military type shows.

The scene where Kaycee met Thomas at a sidewalk cafe in the open knowing there where threats on Rainwater's life for the sole purpose of creating a drive-by shooting scene was terrible piece of writing.

We watched EP2 last night... damn this is bad television. Just brainless as hell. Dealilng with the wild mustang, just bouncing out to different "jobs" without any real reconnaissance. Constant bro culture dog whistles. It's so damned bad that my wife said, "I really hate watching shows with you two" after my teenage son and I kept constantly making fun of what we were watching on the screen.

Watched it last night. Thought the same thing. I'll probably keep watching because there really isn't much on tv that I want to watch right now until March Madness begins.

The acting is still horrible.

The story was dumb. I would think that the highway would have been repaired and that an alternate route would not have been needed.

The common thread to this series is white people are racist and bad. Indian people are good. At least with Yellowstone this angle was depicted very little.

This series seems to be aimed to attacted to left leaining people on both coasts and nobody in the middle.

Can You Legally Drive Through Reservations?
LINK

Driving Through Public Roads on Reservations
Travelers are permitted to drive through Native American reservations on public highways and roads. You do not need to obtain a specific right-of-way permit for common activities like driving on a public thoroughfare that passes through reservation land.

Many of these public routes are part of a broader network funded and coordinated through the Tribal Transportation Program. This program is jointly administered by the Bureau of Indian Affairs and the Federal Highway Administration to ensure these essential roads remain accessible for public use and regional travel.

They can exclude people.
LINK

Tribes possess all powers of self-government except those relinquished under treaty with the United States, those that Congress has expressly extinguished, and those that federal courts have ruled are subject to existing federal law or are inconsistent with overriding national policies. Tribes, therefore, possess the right to form their own governments; to make and enforce laws, both civil and criminal; to tax; to establish and determine membership (i.e., tribal citizenship); to license and regulate activities within their jurisdiction; to zone; and to exclude persons from tribal lands.
