No it's not. It's the 5th episode of the season - but it's the last one for Amy and Rory. The chick that didn't realize she was a Dalek in the 1st episode this year will be the new companion.

Well, I consider it the season finale because the beeb decided to only shell out for 14 episodes and they will do the Christmas special and the rest next year.

Oswin = hawt

I think I'm one of the few who really liked Donna Noble as well... She and Tennant's Doctor had a quirky but awesome dynamic.

I have watched the first 3 episodes on Netflix. It wasn't all that great. Kinda cheesy. Does it get any better?

With this guy?

Yea, it gets tons better.

I'd start off with the Christmas Invasion storyline with David Tennant

Series 2, Episode 1

I only like the episodes where David Tennant is the Dr.

I've seen a a few, about the first 3, of the Eckelson reboot series and found them to be hit and miss. Much of the episode is quirky and fun, but some parts just drag or leave me bored.

I wanted to try out the show after catching one of Tennant's episodes, I believe it was the first introduction of the Angels. That just had me hooked.

I love Doctor Who. Has anyone seen any of the "classic" episodes? (as in Tom Baker) I had a Brit stepfather that had a collection.

I tried to go back and watch some of the classic eps... just couldn't get into it. I did take the time to watch a couple with each of the old companions so I could put things in context for the reboot, though.

I watch some of the old ones where they explain back stories for different characters that are referenced in the NuWho

they keep saying the fall finale.

I thought this "season" has been not as awesome as previous seasons. I like that they have been showing different sides of the doctor and making him even outwardly doubt himself. Just some of the episodes haven't really been as intense as the last two seasons.

This season has been a mini farewell tour for Amy and Rory so far. They're exploring new territory about how The Doctor affects peoples' real lives. This is the first time he's been SOOO involved with a companion for so long. I think it's pretty interesting.

As for the excitement factor - That should ramp up considerably this episode with the angels coming back. I'm also a River Song fan (many are not) - so this one has that coming as well.

I'm very curious as to how they are going to introduce the new companion over Christmas... Will it somehow actually be Oswin? or just the same actress...

Should be a roller coaster with a brand new arc after the break.

The first few episodes of the new run were extremely cheesy. In that season I'd watch The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances 2 part episode to see if you like that. Those episodes will give you a much better feel for the show. I'd watch that episode and Blink from season 3 I believe. If you don't like either of those the show is not for you.

I enjoy Dr Who a great deal, but it will mix in quite a few cheesy and average/bad episodes with some that are fantastic and as good as anything on TV.

I think Blink is the one I saw randomly that got me to try out the reboot.

But I'm in the same boat, I've only seen the first 3 episodes of Eccleston and they have been fairly boring.
