They did a pretty good job with Martha. Can't wait for your thoughts on Donna Noble. A lot of folks are annoyed by her... but her repoire is some of the best-written of the show. Also - some of the best episodes of the whole series are in Season 3.

I have only the wedding episode with her and she was quite annoying and seemed pretty slow compared to Martha and even Rose.
I hope she isn't a complete idiot as a companion.

She's not "book smart" but she's lived more real life than Rose or Martha... and the dynamic is totally different. The wedding episode was just an introduction - It gets better. MUCH better.
