We were talking about 3rd Rock recently, which reminds me of Wings and News Radio. Back when network comedy was a real thing and funny.
Building on the strength of all those (Lear and not) grittier sitcoms of the 70s and then the explosion of (mainly family) sitcoms of the 80s, the 90s were really "peak" sitcom.
Frasier and Wings (both in the Cheers universe), Seinfeld, Friends started in '94, Fresh Prince, Newsradio (narrowly my favorite comedy at the time of Hartman's death, edging out Frasier), 3rd Rock, Martin, Home Improvement, Everybody Loves Raymond, Spin City, The Nanny, Saved by the Bell - there was a shite ton of great work being done in comedy television in the 90s.
Without question.

There must have been a few years in there where USA ran Wings 100% of the time.
When I think of the channel USA, I immediately think of Wings. That and I think WWF were the two main things I watched on there.

Brian: Well, we spilled a cup of Joe in there.
Antonio: While we eating sloppy...Joe's in there.
