Any actor/actress have better run than Costner in late 80s/early 90s?

You forgot Revenge 1990 and A Perfect World 1993.

Those are his two best movies BTW. Oh and Open Range but that doesn't really fit the timeline does it?

* If you get around to watching Revenge please note there are two releases theatrical and directors cut and there's a big difference between the two.

Tony Scott's best movie. Yes, even better than Man On Fire imo.

I'll put in a vote for Fandango as well. Think it was his first feature. He was superb in The Big Chill as well. Method acting at its finest.

It is my favorite movie of his.

In order for me:

A Perfect World
Revenge
Open Range
No Way Out
The Untouchables

The others I could take or leave.

Not asking for an appraisal of his body of work.

Only asking whether any other actor/actress put together a similar or equivalent body of work over a 5/6 year stretch that he did in the late 80s early 90s.

Oh yeah plenty of actors have put together similar bodies of work. How far back do you want to go? Or are you strictly asking about the late 80s early 90s?

8 year range.

Cut it down to 5-6 year period (wherever you want to start) and I think Costner's is better.

Keanu Reeves had a pretty good ramping up period to The Matrix from '88-'95:

Bill and ted's Excellent Adventure
Bill and Ted's Bogus journey
Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventures
Point Break
My Own Private idaho
Dangerous Liasons
Parenthood
Dracula
Speed
Johnny Mnemonic

I'd add A Walk in the Clouds 1995 to that. Solid romance flick, love the cinematography.
