Miyagi and Daniel lie about the level of his karate. Then, Miyagi steals a black belt from the tournament official's bag. Holy crap! They cheated to get him in the tourney!

Miyagi steals a black belt

Seems like if he beat multiple black belts, he was also a de facto black belt himself.

We are all the hero of our own story and the villain in someone else’s.

Every discipline has different criteria for earning belts. Maybe he was a black belt in his training but just didnt have the hardware

I brought this up in my original over-analyzation of KK thread. He had beaten zero black belts at that point, so he wasn’t a black belt and shouldn’t have been eligible to compete.

Very true

Miyagi taught him old school karate without belt system. In the old days, you learned how to block a punch before you learned how to throw one. So miyagi taught him to block with monotonous mundane wax on wax off

If you resist the monotonous you may miss the miraculous

Defeating black belts is not a criteria for earning one. His instructor, who easily defeated several "black belts" at once felt that he had attained the skill to compete in what is really an arbitrary system that differs from place to place.

And how does losing a karate tournament force one to become a loser for 35 years? Seems like a pretty weak person.

And using some of your team members as sacrificial pawns to injure and weaken your opponent is beyond anything Daniel and Mr. Miyagi did, so let's not bring up the rules, okay?

They had to make him a loser in order to make a series. Without that there is no series.

I know. I'm talking about the whole good guy bad guy thing. It's not Daniel's fault that Johnny didn't do shite after losing the fight.

Kreese will be the main Antagonist moving forward. The question now becomes, what will Johnny do?

Miyagi said he is black belt. That settles that issue. If we're going to be ridiculous sticklers, let's point out that Ali shouldn't have been on the mat either. They all lied. Let's just go back and cancel the whole movie.
