Not sure how I’m just now watching this series, especially since I live near Oceanside

Yeah, it paces well and every episode has a good intensity about it. Only knocks so far is that I tend to skip the flash backs because I’m not interested in the Smurf backstory, and of course the unnecessary gay bits.

It was one of those great shows that lost me somewhere in the middle like Snowfall. These shows tend to stretch out the material to make more money at the cost of the overall story. I guess i need to finish it sometime. Don't skip the Australian movie it is based on; that is also good and doesn't run too long like the show:

Yeah, it slows down halfway through. I’ll check out the flick.

Yep, agreed. Don't let that spoil a great show.

If it were just her I would agree but it sheds light on Baz, Pope, Craig, etc... Jay is the wild card because the back story focuses on his mom who was never really in the show. Outside of that very well put together.

Much they say about Oceanside changing is becoming true. It used to be a bit more sketchy than the other ritzy coastal towns south, but LA development is moving into the place and gentrifying it.
