I thought Lone Survivor was terrible, wasn't even close to what really happened. If American Sniper is worse not gonna waste my $8.

His accent made it hard to understand what he was saying quite a few times. Kind of annoying.

It's a solid flick and a story that needs told, but Eastwood didn't make this nearly as stark as he could have. Cooper's effort was just fine, he really committed to the part. But it was just fine and McConaughey can't play everything.

Its a solid good movie. If you are just expecting a shoot em up frick the muslims type movie then I can understand the more realistic truths of war implanted into this film. The movie is fast paced but hey are trying to cover a lot of ground and show how him, his family, and the war changed over the years. It does a good job of this however the gaps do impact the strength of the plot. It would have been probably better done as a short tv series. Overall it was a gripping entertaining movie that showed more depth into the cruel realities of war than your typical propaganda patriot piece.

This movie was boring, I fell asleep watching it. Probably won't attempt to watch again. I didn't read the book but before falling asleep I couldn't stop thinking how fictional it was.

Disagree. I thought the movie was really good and even though there were some differences from the book, it was pretty close for the most part. I didn't care for the way they "Hollywoodized" Danny Dietz' death. Wish it would have been a little longer and showed Luttrell's struggle post-battle and pre-Gulab rescuing him.

If Clint made it its brilliant, but different folks have different tastes. I didn't care much for Lone Survivor, I couldn't get past the fact so many men died because the leader of the crew felt he had to be politically correct.

Not bad, jut was expecting more.

Loved Fury.

Saw a pre screening last night.

Great war movie. Great message about helping fellow warriors and veterans.

But its not a brilliant movie. its good but almost seems like it was unfinished or rushed.

They are called rules of engagement, nothing with being politically correct.

This is an absurd way of thinking. He's made shitty films before [Ex. Flags of Our Fathers]. American Sniper isn't a phenomenal film. In all honesty, it's rather averaged and forgettable.

I didn't like that the took two unrealistic falls in that movie that would have broken necks/spines. They REALLY pumped those guys up.

I have yet to see Sniper but I am disheartened about the comments I am reading about Lone Survivor...how in the actual frick can anybody here that wasn't a SEAL in Afghanistan say anything about the way that the scenario was depicted...Lone Survivor nor any of these other similar movies should not be judged in normal Hollywood fashion...the intent of all of these movies is to show the American people what the hell was going on over there from the eyes of those who served, not the fricking media...trying to determine if something based in truth is Oscar worthy minimalizes the actual events imho...let's go easy on saying something was shite or wasn't shite when it comes to movie renditions of non fiction memoirs from those that were there...and gave everything....feel free to speak up if you were there BTW...I have a dear friend who was on the "other" helo that went in to get those guys in Afghanistan but had to leave them cause it was too hot...he can hardly talk about what it was like to know they were in there dying and they couldn't be extracted...he tears up...that's real...and talking shite about whether or not the decisions they made were right or wrong because you didn't necessarily enjoy it form a movie goer perspective is fricked up..

I'm saying that when you are hurling down a hill and you are stopped by a tree in your side, you aren't just going to walk that off.

Not to mention all the other impacts they took while rolling down the hill. Like the dude that bashed his head on the Boulder.... frick that. We seals. Walk that shite off.
