Won't get to watch last night's show until tonight. Who stood out? Who's going home?

I really hope Dexter goes home. He's so cliché and doesn't open his mouth enough when he sings. He can be extremely hard to understand if you don't already know what song he is singing.

Jena
Caleb
Strange looking guy

Probably CJ, if it's based on last nights performances, imo.

Solid performances:
Jessica
Dexter
Young boy

Malaya aka teenybopper should be in the bottom 3, but the under 21 vote seems to love her.

Here's my rankings:
1. Jena-was in it to win it last night. my favorite
2.Dexter-you know I don't like country, but he did really well last night.
3.Alex Preston-did a great original song and was really good.
4. Sam-the teenybopper girls swooned last night, and it was a good performance but he still needs to loosen up.
5.Jessica-looked great last night and did an original song really well. Bottom line is, she's taking herself too serious and I don't think the audience is connecting with her.
6.Caleb-rocked out as usual, nothing outstanding
7. Malaya-was back to her annoying act but her vocal performance was good.
8. CJ Harris-country karaoke as usual, nothing outstanding. SO OVER IT.

I'm kinda old but Sam Wolfe reminds me of Ricky Nelson from the 60'sand 70's. he died in a plane crash in Texas in 1985.

CJ and Dexter's duet was awful....just awful. can you say Mellow Mushroom open mic night circa 2006?

I was bored with Jessica. She looks good, but I didn't think that song was all that.

I don't get the love for CJ's performance. He's just not that good and it seemed wobbly a few times.

Jena and Alex-meh...something strange about that duet.

I loved Sam. I agree that he still needs to loosen up, but he's so much more comfortable with his own song. I hope he doesn't get booted yet. He's coming around.

Jessica and Caleb-I enjoyed that. They're great together.

Malaya-She's definitely got a strong voice, but this one didn't win me over. It was okay. There was nothing wrong with it. Her feet remind me of a duck's the way she places them or something, but I always think of a duck. I still think she gets a gig with Disney.

Dexter was okay. Nothing special about it. Sounded like another cover.

Sam and Malaya-Lawd, those two looked awkward and uncomfortable. I don't like the song and I got bored, but I love Sam's tone.

Jena-Nice. Very nice. I enjoyed the way she did that. She looks older than her age.

Dexter and CJ-a train wreck. Harmony was bad.

Caleb-I thought I was going to love that performance, but it was just okay for me, dawg.

Alex-I really loved that song and the way he did it. It was sensual. I think he records that song. He was my favorite of the night. I think he looks very English, also.

I think CJ or Dexter should hit the road this week.

You heard me! I said sensual!!

I'm so glad they used the save on Sam. He better get animated next week. He was good singing for the save. CJ should have gone or Dexter.

shocked that sam was at the bottom ! Thought the girls loved him? knew right away this would be the time they used the save..

caleb was caleb... still my favorite. now, he will take harry's advice, do a soft, slow song and get voted out.

gina spelled jena... talk about taking a song and making it NOT sound like the original !! She's shown the most improvement of anyone.

agreed with the duets... caleb/jessica experience and similar singing styles probably help with the chemistry there.

sam/malaya was hard to watch.
dexter/cj..backstreet cowboys 2.0
jena/alex..oil and water

jessica's song was ok...her legs looked weird like they angled in..

dexter..another country song...

cj.. like being in a country bar watching a country cover band

malaya...defintely talented... just seems to always be annoying.

sam, needs some kind of performance coach.

alex.. did a good job with his song... manages to stay in the middle of the pack under the radar

Sam's problem is his shyness. He's got to start connecting. He did some of that in his save song. Better than his past performances. He looked comfortable for once and it was an odd time to be comfortable. And, please keep Malaya away from Sam. That duet was terrible.

Caleb is getting comfortable in his lead. I'm not positive he'll get the win at this time.

I was shocked that Dexter wasn't in the bottom 3. He should have have been. And, damn, how in the hell is CJ hanging on?

Now that Dexter went ahead and did "something different", my guess is he goes back to his normal ways next week. Hopefully it'll get him the vote off. I'm so over him. He's that guy who is in denial that he's just fat and not in shape or muscular. his shirts are always extremely too tight and I wish he'd lose the backward trucker hat. he is the epitome of a cookie cutter country "artist".

if he signs with any label after the show, he'll disappear into obscurity almost overnight.
