I was totally with it until she slowed it way down for like 7 seconds then shot it right back up to a 10.

Yeah, that become pretty funny after a while.
I have a name that can be shortened, though I go by my full name. Always have and I do not fit the shortened version. Take Robert for example which can be shortened to Bob or Elizabeth which could be Liz or Beth. I will introduce myself or be introduced by someone else with my normal name and, 9 times out of 10, the person will call me by the shortened name. Drives me insane. I usually correct them.
I've never understood why people do that. Why not just call the person by the name he or she gives you!

I know that exact feeling. I don't fit the short version of my name either. I'll let a couple of people that I've known since childhood get away with it and not bother me, and a couple of girls I know really well will call me that short name with a "y" on the end.
It really annoys me sometimes, especially with people I don't know well, but I think it kind of pisses my mother off. When I was a kid my uncle made me a train with each car being a letter of my name and only used the shortened version. My mother made him go make more cars to complete my name... This was Christmas when I was like 4.

that's hilarious! I hope she called him a cheap arse!
I let people misspell my name on almost a daily basis. I don't correct them unless they ask if they are spelling it correctly.

Yeah, friends of my brother's call him by a shortened version and it doesn't go over well with my Mom or me, either, for that matter. He never calls himself the short version, so I don't know why other folks do it.

once again caleb aka meatloaf owned the night...rickey was really into it on that song...
I liked jessica's performance but i wish she had done the evanescence song...
malaya is hard to like..her part of the opening number sucked..jumping around like a fool and not singing half the words..
CJ is getting worse..opening number "and i'm playing on the radio" ummm it's "and a man comes on the radio" followed by "telling me more and more" his words made no sense.
i thought gina spelled jena did pretty good... i didn't like her in the beginning but, she's improving each week...the opposite of cj.
sam's performance almost had "beach" feel to it..like they were hanging out on the beach and he broke out his guitar and started singing.
I like how harry called that one girl out about the road to "stardom"...

I think Dexter goes home tonight. Everything that guy does is the same. I love how Harry continues to hammer it into him that he needs to be better than that. And, doing "something different" doenst mean next week sitting on a barstool and singing a slow country song. it actually means do something different. I'm so tired of him and the "country boy" thing. There are guys playing all time slots, all day, all week on broadway in Nashville that are just as good and/or better than him.

Majesty finally went. Just didn't have a following. CJ has gotten 2 weeks he never should have had. I'm hoping Sam has major improvement next week. He's not going to last much longer, but CJ should go before him and maybe Dexter unless he changes his ways. Surprised he wasn't in the bottom 3.
