I have voted one vote for my favorites with the exception of one night, when Haley sang Bennie and the Jets. I voted for her online like 10 times but Lauren, Paul and Casey only once.

So you respect him for "sticking to his guns", but you're voting him next to last? Yeah he needs to leave the guns at the house and sing pop.

Casey is by far the most talented person on this show and he will probaly get kicked off which means he might actually be a success

I actually liked James' Heavy Metal.

Casey may be talented but, I just don't see the younger crowd voting for that song he did last night.

Jacob, I wish just once he would sing a really upbeat, happy song.He sings every song exactly the same way and the judges praise him fo it. But when others do that the judges tell them to shake things up.

I liked the sort of country flavor Lauren added to the Miley Cyrus song.She may actually win a few more votes with that performance.

Man, everytime I read this thread I realize how different my tastes are from just about everyone who posts here.

I have wide tastes, but can appreciate anything done well.

I think of the people left:

-James is the worst singer. And no, not because of his style. He just has no control, and to me you can always tell someone who can sing with the softer stuff (which is the difference between he and the guy they compare him too all the time... Adam Lambert), and I thought he was pretty terrible last week and should have went home. But when he does up tempo stuff he's always entertaining and good, and obviously his range is out of control.

-Jacob is easily the most talented vocalist left, but he's hot and cold. When he's right... he's soooo right. But when he's off... it's ugly.

-Casey is the most talented person on the show.. probably ever. But he isn't really mainstream, so I don't expect him to be that popular.

-Scotty is Scotty... he's 5 minutes away from country fame, whether I like him or not.

-Lauren has a lot of talent she doesn't know how to use. She's gotten rather bland and I'm surprised people here were enamored with her singing a lame Disney song last night. That being said, it was a good choice for her for vote getting, but she hasn't shown her ability to really sing in weeks...

-I like Paul stylistically, but hate how they try to make every song quirky and odd because of his voice. Last night was his best in a long time, IMO. You don't need to change songs up for him because his voice already brings a unique character to everything.

-Stefano has always had sick vocal talent, but since the top 12 it doesn't seem like he could get out of his own head... until last night. Last night it felt like he really just let go and laid it all out there and it showed in both the crowd and judges response. He slayed a song that stylistically fits him to the T. Has he turned the corner or will he go back to being timid again? He's a threat to win if he's got confidence.

-Haley has my favorite voice of those remaining, but her performance this week may send her home. The thing is, it wasn't bad, but it just didn't do anything for her. Her home is that sorta lezzie rock land where she can show the gravel in her voice.

Everyone was good this week. No one bombed, and there's really no clear cut go home candidate in my mind. I could see just about any going home, but I think Jacob and Stefano were the only two who absolutely slayed their songs.

Some other thoughts on this season:
-Pia was obviously the most complete and the judges did her a disservice by telling her to do "up tempo" when she was smoking ballads on the reg. She was def. a victim of the "everyone will vote for him/her" thing still, as I doubt anyone actively voted against her really. Oh well, probably better for her career.

-Naima was a joke to be in the top 12, but I think Steven had a hard on for her. She had her moments in Hollywood... but who didn't? The pale blonde chick that was 18 or so and absolutely slayed Alicia Keys in her final audition should have made the top 12 before Naima.

-Kendra should have never gone home... she was one of the best females on the show this season...

Agreed, she didn't really connect, and her trying to single these emotional songs didn't really work because she simply hasn't lived that experience yet... not her fault.

I never liked Thia for whatever reason, but she could sing, for sure.

I'm not crazy for him or anything. I think he's kinda fun and cool. I hate how he sang Fulsom Prison Blues with a smile. It's about being in jail for chrissakes!

Definitely. I like soul music (not necessarily gospel like him) so when he goes that direction, I dig it, but other times he's way out there. He's definitely more of a niche guy because even though he can sing like Luther he doesn't have that whole sex appeal thing working for him... probably because he's both gay and religious.

My wife HATES that. She can't even watch him sing between that and the way he cocks the mic.
