I agree, but if "he's in it to win it", he's gotta cater to his audience. I doubt he gets a lot of votes because of how "artistic" the judges think he is.
Idk which demographic makes up the majority of AI voters, but I doubt he gets rave reviews from them. I'd sing whatever it takes to win, then I'd do my own thing later on. Especially if the judges have no say so about the outcome, other than one save.
Same goes for (I forget his name) that sang that pursuit of happiness song.

Seriously James Durbin, if you want to play hard rock, play some fricking guns n roses. Play something most people know. Same goes for Casey, you want to play Jazz, play something people outside of Louisiana will know.
