Well seeing that Spy Game is one of my 2 or 3 favorite movies of all time, yea, I can't agree with you.

I love a good story, and Spy Game is great at that.

He conveys zero emotion in every scene he’s in. Overrated actor.

Best performance I ever saw came very early in his career, the TV version of Iceman Cometh (1960)

If you ever get to see Redford as a stylized Grim Reaper in a Twilight Zone episode where this old gal is locked in her basement apartment and he shows up to coax her out ..... I think it was Twilight Zone, may have been Alfred Hitchcock. Gave me the heebie newbies when I was a kid.

Lemme look for that real quick.

Found it. Episode 81 of The Twilight Zone "Nothing in the Dark."

Here's the synopsis LINK

It was a brilliant episode actually, one of my all time favs in that series. Has stuck with me for life.

His last movie, Old Man and the Gun, was enjoyable.

He's always very stoic, which means his range is limited, but he's been good when the role suits him: Jeremiah Johnson, The Natural, All Is Lost.

Now that you mention it, no.

I can't think of a role where I thought RR was the best actor or stole the show.

Certainly not in the class of Newman, Hackman, etc.
