Alan Taylor has closed a deal to direct “The Many Saints Of Newark” for New Line, a feature film script written by David Chase that will serve as a prequel to his iconic TV series, “The Sopranos,” TheWrap has exclusively learned.
The film takes place in the 1960s, when riots swept through Newark, New Jersey and conflicts between African-American and Italian residents were at their worst. Several characters from the “Sopranos” are expected to appear in the film, though New Line would not disclose further plot details.

When I read the title of the thread I thought there would be no way to make it work. Reading the synopsis made me change my mind.

Never thought the flashback episodes of Sopranos were that great. Also, just about all the characters from the series were racist. Wonder how they tackle that?

They’ll have Tony as a little chubby boy like in the flashbacks.

Oh my god. You dumb fricks are really going to make me explain this? Is that really what I have to do? FFS...
Like I said in my post, James Gandolfini was the only reason to watch the Sopranos for me. It doesn’t matter if he was still alive or not, the movie is set in the 60’s, James Gandolfini the actor wouldn’t be in it even if he were still alive. Thus...NO GANDOLFINI NO CARE...Idgaf about a sopranos world before James Gandolfini’s Tony. I swear to god I just got dummer explaining that.

This isn’t the Sopranos.
This is The Many Saints of Newark.
Try to pay attention.
