So, you're angle is that they are fully OK with losing bank on this 'little movie', so we can get another Simpson's movie, 20 years after the 1st one?
it grossed 4 million on a 35 million budget. The marketing budget was essentially nil as this thread is the first I’ve ever heard of this movie. They didn’t even market it on Disney+.
LILO and stitch grossed 1 billion on a $100 million budget
Avatar fire and ash is at 750 million and counting on a 350 million budget
Zootopia 2 has grossed 1.4 billion with a B and counting on a 150 million with a M budget.
The simpsons movie made 535 million on a 75 million budget. I have no clue if he tied getting Simpsons 2 made to getting his pet project. But with the above numbers yes I absolutely believe Disney would wipe its arse with a 31 million dollar loss to get the simpsons 2 made

Sure, 2007 Simpson's made a lot of money. Based on the success of the show at the time.
A 2027 Simpson's movie? In the current state of theatrical releases? Good luck.
And there's rumors of yet another strike looming in 2026. Pretty much another nail in the coffin for Hollywood if that happens.

Disney is about to hit 3 films over 1 billion in 7 months on a combined budget of 600 million.
I’m sure they are feeling just fine right now and the built in fan base of the simpsons is going to make bank.
But no. I’m sure you’re right. Ella McCay is going to do a number on them

You DO know those totals aren't full cash money in their coffers. Theaters take their cut, and anything in China only gets Disney like 25% of the totals there.
But big numbers, man! BILLIONS !! Yay!

Based on the trailer, it just seems like a boring movie, and doesn't really tell me anything about the plot.
Surely the trailer studio that made this could've done a better job.

So is ugly swarthy Snow White supposed to be the daughter of those two extremely white people?
I'd rather be water boarded than watch that trash. Yuck.

Never even heard of this movie, just read the plot synopsis...

Holy God, it sounds both boring and annoying AF.

it's supposed to be kooky, funny and thought provoking. A commentary on current day and how Hollywood views the world.
Screaming boomer Jamie Lee Curtis, a 34 yr old 'governor' of her state she grew up in, Woody Harrelson as the buffoonish dad, the dorky and equally dim witted brother, the brown 'friend' who is wise beyond his job description.

Watched the trailer...
So it's like a movie version of Parks and Rec where it's only the leftist tropes and none of the humor?
