Nah, Cage from Adaptation and Cage from National Treasure and Cage from Bad Lieutenant are totally different.
Also Nic Cage in Sonny. He played a New Orleans pimp named Acid Yellow.

Daniel Day Lewis. . .at least I assume so, based on the fact that he keeps playing the same character.

Sandler can play other roles. People just don't like it when he does though.

He was great in Frailty. He just chooses to do bubble gum shite most of the time.

Michael Cera is obviously the answer to this thread.

Denzel Washington minus training day
Man on Fire?

IMO Denzel is close, but not in that category.

Bill Murray also is not a good choice.

Pacino plays basically the same character in every film for the past 20 years.

Donnie Brasco, Insomnia? Even in Any Given Sunday and Ocean's Thirteen he played subtley-odd characters.

Wow. One of the most celebrated and non-character roles of its decade, not to mention many others.

Worst vote after DD Lewis, and close to that one.

what?

Dudes just a hater. He bashes him everytime his name gets brought up.
He thinks Bill the Butchers character and Daniel Plainview are the same.
Big whoop, you think two of his characters are similiar. As opposed to a guy like Tom
Cruise where all his roles are the same except one or two. The fact that people went nuts and thought he was so good when Cruise did a cameo in Tropic Thunder is rediculous. They loaded him down with makeup and made him dance and cuss alot. Wow. Not that impressive.
I'd rather my actor actually have to take time to prepare for a role.

Not as much as people seem to think. He's only done about 2-4 in the past decade, while he's made about 5-10 other good movies (i.e.-U-571, Marshall, Reign of Fire, )

I dont understand the argument. Is an actor who plays his core-self in all parts a bad thing? I mean, do you really think if Denzel or Cruise dresses up like a zombie that makes them a great actor?

Personally I like most movies by Cruise, Lewis, Hanks, Stallone, etc.

The greatist character actor out there is Meryl Streep and to me its not close.

now I'm lost. are you with me or against me lol?
im not even sayin I don't enjoy tom cruise movies. im jus saying he plays himself in every role.
pretty sure the director of valkyrie was like "ok how do we make cruise german??" and all they could come up with was "lets put an eye patch on him".
