hell, why not buy one and fly it yourself like John Travolta, off course when his main pilot is off duty!

On a return-on-investment basis, Star Wars proved to be one of the most successful films of all time. During the filming of Star Wars, Lucas waived his up-front fee as director and negotiated to own the licensing rights (for novelizations, T-shirts, toys, etc.)—rights which the studio thought were nearly worthless. This decision earned him hundreds of millions of dollars, as he was able to directly profit from all the licensed games, toys, and collectibles created for the franchise.

Ruined Star Wars when he started thinking more about merchandizing than making a good movie

I won't disagree with that, but the business move was genius.

Anybody have any idea if that shite is anywhere NEAR accurate? Because if so, Will Smith made over $355 million just on those four movies above where his salary was tied into the movie's gross.

No, but I do know Sean Connery turned down 15% of worldwide box office sales to play Gandalf in LOTR... So he lost over $400 million ... So Will Smiths 4 movies + $55 million= Connery fail

as much as Will makes, it probably pales in comparison to Cruise and Pitt!

Not a chance. Neither are as bankable as Smith.

WTF? Why the hell would he do that? I'm glad Ian played Gandalf but you would have to fricking crazy to turn down that role + money.

im not sure if it's 20% of domestic or worldwide gross. usually the distribution deals are different for the international release so it seems like it would be more likely that most actors %'s are based on US only. i could be dead wrong though

I honestly think he thought it would be a flop.. He said "I didn't understand what it was about"... I bet he knows now..

Watching the Fresh Prince episode where Lou (Will's dad) comes back and abandons him again you can see just how good of an actor Smith is my god
