I watched Goodfellas last night on HBOMAX in honor of him. That flick never gets old for me and he really did give a good performance in it.

That's it. I knew there was something about him smoking. Wonder if that played a part.

I'm sure he got in some when his dad sent him to military school, but by the time he graduated one of those places, he'd learned to let his minions handle that kind of stuff.

His dad wouldn't have sent him to military school, if he didn't think teen-age Trump was a pussy. Military schools are where a young man learns we live in a dog-eat-dog world. They teach you to toe the line, and make sure your part of a job is done.

I guess he learned about using bankruptcies, to get out of paying bills, in college.

I was thinking the same thing. He looked a lot older than 67

Well, smoking isn't kind to most people's skin and when I look at pics of the guy, it is obvious he had dealt with a pretty serious acne type condition when younger that left his face pock marked pretty bad.

His really scary character in Something Wild was the first thing I saw him in. Freaked me out to see him play Joe Jackson, a good guy, in Field of Dreams. He was perfect in Goodfellas.

Liotta is a great bad guy. I think his face being scarred up like it is helped him in those roles.

He's one of the best actors to ever play dirty cops. Seems like it was his specialty. He's so good at this that he plays a suspected bad cop, who's innocen,t in a couple of movies

Basically a bad cop in these movies:
Unlawful Entry
Cop Land
Phoenix
Hannibal
Identity-escaped convict acting like he's a cop
Crossing Over
The Son of No One
Breathless
The Place Beyond the Pines

Suspected bad cop movies:
Unforgettable
Narc
The River Murders

I think his looks, the success of Goodfellas, where he plays a likable bad guy, the era in which he started his career, and his ability to make you believe he could be a bad guy, all helped him get typecast as a bad guy.

Cop Land is my favorite Stallone movie Liotta is great in it.

He's great playing a very likable character, George Jung's dad, in Blow.

Narc is a really good story. Both he and Jason Patrick are great in their roles in it. I thought Patrick would get more great roles after he killed it in his first narc role in Rush.

Revolver is another good movie he's in.

His part in Powder Blue is a good story, that he was perfect for too. It's worth watching to see Jessica Biel as a dancer at a gentleman's club!

The River Murders is another good story, that pulls you in, for the kind of disappointing ending. It's still worth watching.

I look forward to seeing how big a role he has in Cocaine Bear!
