I watched this when it came out in 2012 and found it forgettable. I just rewatched and enjoyed it so much more than the first watch. The action was great and the film was shot with beautiful intent and colors. I also enjoyed the melding of the Vampire mythos with the Civil War a lot more- so crazy it's fun. I also had little appreciation of the cast at the time, but now Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Anthony Mackie, Dominic Cooper and Rufus Sewell really sold it for me. The actor that played Lincoln was much more enjoyable upon rewatch. The Vampire that killed Lincoln's mother was just about the best of them all, but not familiar with the actor. Good fun.

Hmmmmm....

I enjoyed the book. But I remember the movie being a chore to finish.

I'm not saying I will jump at the chance to rewatch any time soon...
But if I see it while scrolling through the netflixes... I'll think about it

The book was so much better. I just can’t vatch the movie objectively when it fell so short of the book.
