Lol no it's not.

It won't even win the domestic box office this weekend. It may be top 5 and it would be 5 at that behind Fantastic Beasts, Wreck it Ralph 2, Venom, and Creed 2. Halloween may even out gross it.

I think you're underestimating it. As terrible as Venom is reviewed it will still draw the brainless MCU crowd, but ASIB will do better than you expect.

Really good movie with some great, and I mean great, moments throughout. The music scenes were pretty much flawless and sounded incredible. Gaga was impressive in her non-music scenes given the fact that this was her main feature debut, but her ability to act while singing will earn her an Oscar nom. And her vocals are out of this world good.

With that said, Bradley Cooper gave the best performance in the movie and the best performance of his career. October is just getting started, but he has to be the current front runner for Best Actor IMO.

My main complaint for the movie would be that the storyline felt a bit choppy at times and there are a couple scenes that were kinda cheesy/over the top. Overall I’d give it an 8.5/10. And like others have said, go see this in Dolby Cinema or atleast some other premium format theater.

I found the cheesiest scene to be

*spoilers?*

when she punches the guy wanting Jackson's picture at the bar. Seemed out of place for her character especially considering she had just met Jackson.

Didn't take anything away from the film though.

Probably, I was just saying she'd get nominated simply from the music scenes alone regardless of how she was in the rest of the movie

Absolutely incredible movie. Gaga and Cooper will both get plenty of nominations, they were both great. Every seat was filled except for the front row in our theater.

I wasn't very interested in this movie, but the word of mouth and reviews have peaked my interest. I also saw a TV spot recently that had a Lady Gaga song on it that I actually like for once. Gonna check this out now.

My review is late because our party of 10 had to go out and get drunk after....

This movie is incredible. The cinematography is abosolutely stunning. And Lady fricking Gaga....her voice, her vulnerability. I can't even. That last song and last scene is like a sucker punch in the gut. What a movie.

Completely agree . I knew it was a remake of a remake of a remake but didn’t really know the story.

Felt like I’d been hit with a ton of bricks at the end,

Also the soundtrack is out on Spotify , I re-listened to the final song on the way to work and goodness that brought back the feels .

Gaga nailed the vulnerability she needed to have.

Everyone’s saying this is her first dive into acting but I’d argue that she’s been acting for several years with the meat dress/ doing the evolution thing from the pod at the Grammys

Saw it last night. It's really solid. Lady Gaga is surprisingly good. Her and Cooper have great chemistry.

I believe its her first big movie role, but she's been acting for most of her life in small parts here and there before her run on American Horror Story. And, as you said, Lady Gaga the public persona is more acting then anything else.
