This has tremendous potential. Metal Gear had a pretty decent plot.
I actually enjoyed Assassins Creed. The plot is really complicated with the Animus even though I’ve played several of the games. It’s hard to follow. But I understand if you aren’t a fan of the games it’s probably not for you.

Yep. Gears of War has a much better story line and characters have been fleshed out more. Why are they not making that one into a movie. Hell, I bet they could get 4 or 5 out of that story line. No whether they would be good or not is open for debate.

Eh, If there was ever a video game that would translate well to the big screen Metal Gear Solid is it. There's no weird mystical visual effects that won't translate well to live action (I.E. DBZ, Prince of Persia, Assassins Creed, ect). They also have plenty of engaging characters and reality based plot.
This CAN work in ways that other video game adaptations were severely limited, but only if the project is taken seriously. If the production company only views it as a cash grab and gets 3rd rate writers and actors/actresses on a minimum budget it will be a train wreck.
If it is taken seriously though it has the potential to be amazing

I loved the PS1 game from 1998/1999. But, I will have to see the cast before I get pumped for a film version. So many of the translations of games to film are horrible.

I think he needs to be a full on effort tho, Assassins Creed had Fassbender (who I really really like) but was still garbage. Needs skilled writers, directors, AND cast.

It doesn't work that way. The three Snakes are half-Japanese (the assistant of Dr. Clark who donated the eggs for the Les Enfants Terrible project was a Japanese woman).
If Liam Neeson played Big Boss, you'd have to have an actor playing all of the Snakes that not only resembles Neeson but has asian features as well.

To be fair, MGS and everything after it was basically a movie-like production in its story telling.
MGS II Sons of Liberty is hands down the best video game I've ever played.

It's crazy that some random guy who's only previous movie writing credit was Safety Not Guaranteed has now been given the script-writing duties for two Jurassic Park films, a King Kong movie, and a Metal Gear Solid movie.
I guess it's good to have connections in Hollywood.
