It was only meant to be a 5 episode miniseries, but the ratings were so good it ended up going 13 years.

They always drank booze out of those glass decanter things. When I was a kid I used to think important people were drunks because of this.

i'm a good baptist that hides my liquor but i've never understood the appeal of leaving it out and then having it in a decanter. just seems wasteful since you already have a perfectly capable bottle that it came in.
