Yeah he has to be the favorite, Driver maybe with an outside shot

My predictions:

Pic: 1917
Actor: Phoenix
Sup Actor: Pesci (career award over Pitt, Hanks with a shot, strong field as usual)

Actress: Theron (very weak field)
Sup Actress: Dern or ScarJo if they want to honor her for both that role and Marriage Story

Director: Mendes has to have this locked up

Adapted Screenplay: Jojo Rabbit
Original: Marriage Story (Parasite with a shot of Foreign Film isn’t enough recognition)

I think Pitt has Best Supporting locked up. He's been winning everything in the awards circuit. Same thing with Laura Dern and Best Supporting Actress. I'm a little puzzled by all of the love for Pitt though. Nothing really stood out about his performance. Plus he was basically the co-lead in the movie with Leo.

He had the cool factors of Newman in Cool Hand Luke and McQueen in The Great Escape all rolled into one performance.

Joker with 11 nominations. The american media is gonna be pissed.

We can only pray that violence doesn't break out at the ceremony with every mention of Joker.

Sam Worthington, and Richard Jewell in general, got screwed. Pacino doesn't deserve his nomination and is gonna hurt Pesci.

At least we know Black Widow will be there to pick up the award.

Pesci may very well win but it won't be as a career award. Pesci has won in this category before. Pitt has never won an Oscar. If anyone is going to win in this category because of his career, it's Brad Pitt.

Matthew Rhys was the lead and did a fantastic job.

It was his story.

I feel like Bale should've been up for his Ken Miles role in Ford v Ferrari. He was fantastic.

Trying to figure out which shitty, weird film the voting base will gravitate to this year to knock off the favorite.

I'm going to say Parasite. It checks boxes for them. No whitey and I think the director is a big social commentary lunatic.

You sound like a lunatic. Are movies you haven't seen automatically shitty?

I'd love to see Parasite win best picture, or Jojo Rabbit. I'm afraid it's going to be a more conventional choice like 1917.
