I really think Yahoo hires the biggest idiots in the industry
Was there any point in Avatar that anybody though "Great Dialog" and "Instantly Quotable" (unless its unintentionally bad)? Avatar not being nominated for Best Screenplay was about as big of a snub as New Moon not being nominated for Best Picture.
Plus under Snubs, they forgot 500 Days of Summer, but instead put the Hangover.

Agreed. But they were right about:
I kind of agree with this. This movie came out too early, but was great. I thought Jonze should have received a director nod at the very least.
Outside of Renner and Bridges, Viggo was just plain awesome in this movie. I don't think the movie is seen as "good enough," to nab him the nod though.
This. Straight up snubbed on that. She should get the Roscoe though, haha.

Best Picture - "Where the Wild Things Are"
Spike Jonze's adaptation of the cherished childhood classic is not a kiddie movie. Instead, it's one of the most complex and raw portraits of childhood ever committed to film. Whether you loved his treatment or hated it, "Where the Wild Things Are" looked and felt like nothing else from this year.

Best Actor - Viggo Mortensen, "The Road"
Respect continues to elude the criminally overlooked leading man, who was also snubbed by the Academy a mere four years ago for his performance in 2005's taut thriller "A History of Violence." Yes, he was rewarded (two years later) with a nomination for "Eastern Promises," but that doesn't let the voters off the hook for bypassing Viggo's haunting (and career best) performance in the year's most harrowing and moving film.

Supporting Actress - Melanie Laurent, "Inglourious Basterds"
"Inglourious Basterds" constructs a collage of revenge and suspense, and Melanie Laurent's performance glues the pieces together. Her sultry, seductive presence as cinema proprietor Shosanna keeps us fixed on every movement of her lips. Her larger-than-life cackling smile, billowing in a wisp of smoke, heralds the movie's fiery climax. And we feel disgust in the pits of our stomachs as Shoshanna shares strudel with the barbaric Nazi Colonel Landa (an impeccable Christoph Waltz) -- a scene that Laurent plays with subtle intensity, acting entirely with her eyes. Mademoiselle Laurent, the Oscars owe you a nom! Those "Basterds"!
This. Straight up snubbed on that. She should get the Roscoe though, haha.

Did you see the best actress list?
Just give it to Streep already.

Oh I definitely agreed with some of them, its just Hangover, Avatar for best screenplay, and Zoe for best actress. If Andy Serkis couldn't get it for Gollum, she didn't stand a chance.
And Melanie was definitely snubbed. BUt wouldn't she be best actress? She is in there at least as much as Pitt is, if not more so.

It's disgusting that District 9 got nominated for Best Picture. Pure trash.
Why aren't Invictus and Moon on there instead of D9 and Blind Side?

It's stunning to me that he got left off. I thought he and Sam Rockwell were EASILY the two best performances I saw all year, better than 4 of the 5 that got nominated (haven't seen Crazy Heart).

I am disgusted that both Robin Williams and John Travolta were shamefully snubbed for their work in Old Dogs.

District 9 is one of the better movies on the list.
I am watching Moon as i speak, so i don't have an opinion yet.
Snubs:
Sharlto Copley (Best Actor - District 9)
Viggo (The Road)

Ha, my two favorite movies of the year - The Road and Moon - didn't get nominated for a damn thing.

If "Up" doesn't win "Best Animated", then I call "bullshite".

An Education was good. Carey Mulligan should get Best Actress for her role in that film. It dominates Bullock's role in The Blind Side.

Pulling for CLooney, though Bridges would be ok.
Hurt Locker is great, hope it wins.
