I will say this though...as overrated as I think TBL is, I proudly dance like The Jesus every single time I bowl a strike.

not going to link the dream because of brief nudity, but that scene seems totally unlike a stoner movie, right?

It's not as in your face as Half Baked or Harold and Kumar, but just google "top stoner movies" and you'll see many of your kind agree it goes great with a bowl.

I can see it as a fairly stoner-ish movie, but that doesn't really matter to me.

I've never smoked weed in my life and Half-Baked and Friday are two of my favorite comedies ever.

The chinaman is not the issue here.

Which would make every movie a stoner movie by that rationale.

Passion of the Christ was a total stoner movie, yo.

Ok, Jon Stewart. Let me know when you find passion of the Christ on a top stoner movie list.

stupid arse movie. built on nostalgia

People expressed that same idea in the Star Wars thread.

How about accepting some people liked the movies before jumping to that conclusion.

I love the notion that because a stoner is in it, the movie is a stoner movie. This isn't Half Baked. The central premise of the movie isn't centered around the Dude's pot habit. The fact that he smokes a lot influences his character and his interactions with people, but why don't we think of it as an alcoholic movie? The Dude drinks just as many or more White Russians than he smokes joints

I see your point. Whatever, its a slacker movie. It is seen as a stoner movie because the main character is your typical pot smoking cool slacker and he smokes multiple times on screen. Comedies with multiple on screen pot smoking scenes are often seen as stoner movies. Believe me, stoners relate to "The Dude" and his lifestyle and enjoy watching a movie centered around a pothead, white russian drinking slacker.

This thread would have definitely gone better if everyone just posted quotes from the movie.

I love a good quote thread, shite just hits the fan though when people throw around superlatives like greatest and funniest.
