@Kilbleezy

Wally Pfister just told us there is 100 minutes of fight scenes in the Dark Knight Rises.

Wally Pfister is currently having a Q&A session at CMF Hollywood.

I'm so not liking this...

Did anyone ever find out how long the movie is? I know there are rumors that it is really long.

The theaters had its running time listed as 2 hours and 45 minutes.

Well, Bane is a much more physical villain than Joker, Two Face, or Scarecrow so more fights scenes are necessary. I mean you don't want a massive hulking beast like Bane lurking in the freaking shadows and not getting his hands dirty.

So 100 out 165 minutes is going to be fighting? That doesn't sound right.

Haha yea if that's right, well I'm not sure what to think

Maybe "action scenes" is loosely defined

With Bane being a more physical villain, I think this will have much more fighting than the previous two but I'm sure it'll still be reasonable and provide plenty time for dialogue and story.

Think LotR...perfect blend

Producer Emma Thomas has gone on record multiple times saying that this film is more war movie than comic book movie.

War movies tend to have a lot of fighting in them.

They're saying on twitter that Wally Pfister was misquoted. He said there were 60 minutes of action/fight scenes, not 100.

That can't be right. Hopefully they have a different opinion on what classifies as a fight scene than I do.

This is what was really said:

#CMFhollywood? day 2: Q&A w/ Wally Pfister, The Dark Knight Rises cinematographer. It'll have a whole hour of action sequences shot in IMAX!

This was information we've already known about. I don't know where the 100 minutes rumor came from.

It might work if Nolan could actually shoot fight scenes.

Yes pease.

The rotating fight scene in the hallway in Inception sucked. Especially since he didn't use any gimmicks to shoot it.

I really don't need a lot of fight scenes in a Batman story. I'm as big a fan of Batman and Christopher Nolan as anybody, but I feel like The Dark Knight Rises will disappoint.

I'm kinda over huge set pieces, I'd rather dialogue scenes just about every time. I give Nolan a lot of credit though, at least he does mostly practical FX vs. CGI.

The fight scenes in Inception are highly stylized -- they're nothing like the scenes in BB and TDK, which look overly mechanical and opaque. It's been a known, common problem in his Batman movies.
