to those who have followed it more closely regarding their tv deal

Would starting their own network be that much of a revenue boost? Will it hurt their fan support across the country if they are no longer on WGN? Are they going to sell the rights to WGN to keep showing the games?

I guess you can debate whether he is or isn't, or what even constitutes being an ace.
Yu is an opening day starter on 75% of MLB teams. The Cubs will have him as their 3rd or possibly 4th starter, and by anyone's measure that's an enviable position to be in.

Quintana & Hendricks...

Regardless of the order, that is a damn strong rotation with Chatwood as your 5. Easily top 5 rotation in MLB

Yu would be ahead of both , Hendricks though has been a nice surprise and I could see the argument for him based on his last two seasons.

It is certainly a good rotation... hopefully Q pitches like he did two years ago rather than last year. Same for Lester really.

They already haven't been on WGN across the country for a few years now.

yea when you have 4 guys that you can run out on a given night that can totally shut down a lineup, you don't really need an "ace" per se. Been trying to tell Astro fans this for years. No surprise they finally win a chip when they add Verlander and will be even more formidable this year with Cole

Per @fangraphs, Yu Darvish owns the 2nd-best career K rate among starting pitchers ever (29.7%), behind only the late Jose Fernandez (31.2%). Chris Sale 3rd, Stephen Strasburg 4th, Randy Johnson 5th. @JimDeshaies 553rd (ahead of HOF’er Phil Niekro!).

"Darvish told Dave Roberts he was signing with the Cubs and said to him "My main goal is to beat the Dodgers."

What a cocksmoker. He already beat the Dodgers. When he was pitching for them in game seven of the WS. He won't get a better chance to screw the Dodgers than that.
