I would not touch this game. FSU destroyed a terrible Pitt team and Clemson beat a top 5 team at home in a great game. I am not sure FSU beats UGA last sat with a 1st year starting qb.

He said it wouldn't be close. I'm assuming he would give a point spread that would match his sentiment.

Ohio states performance against top tier SEC schools in the title games, their road trip to USC

What about everything since 2008 because what you just listed all happened in 2008 (USC on the road) or earlier.

and reputation of the Big Ten being so poor

The same Big Ten that is 18-21 against the SEC in bowl games since the inception of the BCS? Because if that Big Ten is so weak what does it say about the almighty SEC that they are just above .500 against the Big Ten in those bowl games and have a losing record if you take out Ohio State's abysmal record (1-5) in bowl games in that time period against the SEC. Yes, the rest of the poor Big Ten has a winning record against the SEC in that time period.

Did you watch them play? They looked awful.

Highly doubtful.

It says a lot that the Gator Bowl, for example, matches up the two following teams:

Big 10 #4
vs.
SEC #6

Moreover, the SEC always gets two teams in BCS games, this really amounts to Big 10 #4 v. SEC #7.

In other words, if the Big 10 and the SEC were playing a round of golf, the SEC would be spotting the Big 10 3 strokes, and then still kicking their arse.

Bama - didn't look the greatest but I think they're just all in for aTm and are probably the most talented team in the country

FSU - looked damn good with all eyes on them (plus I always liked Jimbo)

Clemson - win against the most quality opponent of the week

LSU - loved the balance, defensive looked very good. Clean up a few small errors (fumble, delay of game) and could contend for the title

South Carolina - looked solid on both sides of the ball. All opinions on the Ole Ball Coach aside, he's a hell of a coach

Again, check your facts first before posting.

The Big Ten has had two teams in BCS bowl games MORE times than the SEC has.

Oh, really???? That's the 2012 Gator Bowl.

Ohio states performance against top tier SEC schools in the title games, their road trip to USC and their OOC schedule combined with the strength and reputation of the Big Ten being so poor, I don't consider Ohio St talent wise a top tier program. Great program and tradition but I put them in the same category as Notre Dame.

Please provide a single player who played in any of those games that's on the team. Hell give me a coach. You're punishing a group of players who were in middle school in some cases.

Oklahoma St getting no love on here. They toppled a mighty SEC team and most impressively had a great defensive day.

My top 5 is

1 clemson . I think they'll Clemson soon enough, but they deserve props.
2 FSU. Only against Pitt but a great performance.
3 Bama. People saying they don't look and giving them the benefit of the doubt? I saw a scary athletic team that's only going to get better. They're going to wax aTm's arse.
4 Louisville. They looked really good against a team that should contend in the MAC. Their schedule is really going to hurt them...its waaaaay bad.
5 LSU. Solid performance against a mid tier Big12 team. Honestly not sure if they are better than aTm in the long run though.

EL OH EL

How has that fared for the Big 10 in terms of wins in all these BCS Bowl games? Let me help you out with that, 12-14 for the Big Ten compared to 17-8 for the SEC.

And how about BCS National Championships? In 3 appearances the Big 10 is a measley 1-2 while the SEC is 9-1 in 10 appearances.

Not saying Ohio State can't make a run this season, but don't even try to begin to compare the Big 10 to the SEC when it comes to success in the BCS.

I think keeping LSU outside the top 5 until we play an SEC team is fine.

I actually really like Okie St this year, but... are you smoking crack? You can't honestly believe beating Mississippi State is that impressive of a win. They clearly aren't in the SEC's top 6 power programs. Describing MSU as "mighty" is absurd. that's like a WKU fan bragging about beating Kentucky.
