Duke doesn't have a big man. Amile Jefferson/Josh Hairston are not the answer at the 5. And Marshall Plumlee is soft.

Jefferson hsa bulked up and has played very, very well in preseason. I agree he's no 5 but he'll do a good job of filling the void against most teams.

I think Florida will be good but they just always seem to peak at the right time, especially now with all the suspensions.

And I agree there a few true centers in college ball. The only proven one is Mitch McGary, if you count him. All the others are unproven and raw, which generally results in good defense but poor offense.

They probably won't win their first big OOC game (@WISC). They still have plenty of opportunities to get a quality win (games with MEM in NY, KU, @UConn).

Dude played out of his mind in the tourney. I think he'll still do quite well, though. I remember reading that Donovan really wanted him at Florida too.

I think a common ingredient in a lot of the championship teams the last decade or so is a big-time defensive big man who protects the rim. Just off the top of my head.

Louisville - Deng
Kentucky - Davis
UConn - Oriakhi
Kansas - Sasha Kaun and Cole Aldridge
Florida - Noah
UConn - Okafor

There's definitely a trend. Thats one of the reasons I like Mich St to win it all. Adreian Payne and Brendan Dawsone are one of the best post combos and they still have very good gaurd play. I like Syracuse for the same reason, they have a few good big guys and I wouldnt be surprised if this is one of the best D's Boeheim has fielded. CJ Fair will give dedenders so many problems with his versatility.

how you think michigan will do this year? no doubt burke is a huge loss, but the backcourt should be solid paired with an improved and experienced frontcourt. i think the team will go as far as nik, irvin, and spike take them.

i also really like the potential of #23, LeVert.

(i realize sounded like a bleacher report "writer" )

they'll be fine, although I don't follow Michigan that much . Beilein is pretty damn underrated coach, but I'm not sure on FF. UM/MSU should have some interesting battles this year

Duke, Kansas, UL, UK #1 seeds

POY Julius Randle

Final 4 UK, Duke, Kansas, MSU

Champ. UK

If it is true of what is floating in Chaple Hill, UNC is done. Sounds like Hariston and McDonald will not see the floor.

I forgot to include how I think UNC have a bad season and Roy "retires". That program isn't on the decline but I think they need something revitalizing.

UF have another suspension? Really, UF will be fighting the Vols for 2cd place.
