Grambling Too, but no LSU.
Who could have predicted that.

Pirate King is going to be offended. A requirement for him to be a fan of any LSU team is that the coach has to be a moron.

I hate that conference champions have to play the first 4. That should be reserved for at-large teams to play themselves in.

They made the NCAA D-2 Tournament way back when, led by Willis Reed..
They won a NAIA National Championship also led by Reed in 1961...

SWAC is the worst conference in college basketball.
UVA & Northwestern are better teams than the SWAC Champion

SWAC is 1 of 5 conferences with a 5% or less winning % in the NCAA Tourney since middle 1980s....
There are 2 conferences with 0% winning % in the NCAA Tournament.
1 of those conferences has as many appearances as the SWAC with 0 wins!!!

Interesting stats, but they’re literally the weakest conference in college basketball this year.

Where y'at????? The ONLY La team to advance!!!
2024 SWAC has a higher tournament winning % than the SEC and a higher post season winning % than the SLC!!!
That's why they play the games on fields, courts etc!!!

The SWAC has a win over an SEC team who made the tournament. Southern over Moo U. Generally speaking, the SWAC is a dogshit conference.

We can't go by personal feelings we can only go by what happens on the court....
Like I posted above there are bigger conferences that have the same Tournament winning % as SWAC....
There are a few bigger conferences that have not won a single game in the tournament with as many appearances as the SWAC!!!!
On any given night a team can beat a more talented team no matter what the conference and uniforms say!!
Facts not a personal opinion!!!
.
Grambling basketball put 10 players in the NBA between 1956-1976...
Southern has put more players in the NBA more recently!!!
There is no doubt that team depth is the biggest issue with HBCU sports for the last 3 decades...
I just don't agree that the 2 biggest conferences the SWAC and the MEAC are year in and year out the worst conferences in the country!!
I could recite conference stats but it is not necessary...
Just like Coach Eddie Robinson had football teams from the 1950s-to the 1974 Doug Williams,Dwight Scales,Sammy White,Carlos Pennywell,Gary Big Hands Johnson, Robert Barber....
The GSU teams with Willie Brown,Buck Buchanan, Willie Davis,Ernie Ladd,James Harris,Charlie Joiner,Rosey Taylor,Tank Younger,Frank Cornish,Frank Lewis....
The 1974 Jackson State team featuring Walter Payton, Jackie Slater,Robert Brazile,Rickey Young...
The Southern University 1970 team with Mel Blount,Ken Ellis,Louis Porter,Alden Roche,Raymond Jones,Willie Davenport
Harold Carmichael,Isiah Robertson....
All could have beat many major schools and definitely would have ran over LSU !!!
LSU didn't have a 9+ football draft class until the 1983 team...

Also Jerry Robinson> This link lists his hometown as Jonesboro but he was really from Dodson. His brother also pitched in the Orioles system and made it to the bigs for a while before he hurt his shoulder. LINK
