I meant that in an issue that obviously has emotional baggage, and despite your best wishes, that cold calculating logic trump emotion it is often not the case. shite politics wouldn't exist if it was that way.
So as someone not directly involved with the situation why discount their thoughts on the matter?
Yes you are smarter, yes logic should win out but if logic always won out over emotion would Sterling have even made his statements?

My personal opinion is that one type of racist is not "better" than the other. They're both equally bigoted and hold the same hateful views regardless of how they express them. Both are unacceptable to me.
If I had to choose, of course I would rather be able to avoid them instead of being hit with something out of left field (who wouldn't), but that doesn't make an overt racist any better than a covert one in any way.

Gotcha. What is interesting to me is that the racists I know that feel blacks are as inferior as a race actually go out of their way to help and commend black people that are hard-working, intelligent, kind, educated etc.
