What the frick? Simmons is saying that? The guy who has been writing $20,000 a year checks to Donald Sterling for almost an entire decade?

That's insane.

And again, my belief on the Sterling situation is that he should have been suspended for at least one year back in 2009 or 2010 (whenever the information about the housing discrimination and the showers was first brought out in public).

s that due to the players for the Clippers or the media and the NBA's decision to wait before making a decision?

doing this protest only gives more fuel. if they came out and said "our owner's non-basketball and personal comments have nothing to do with the games we play, and the NBA will make a decision on his comments, so we won't make any", then i would have been like "yes sir"

have a question got you. As a black man would you rather someone that is racist hide and just be racist in secret or would you rather they tell you so you can avoid them? I know that if someone doesn't like me for any reason I would much rather them tell me so I can decide how I want to deal with them and I cannot stand people that don't like me but smile in my face. It may be different when it comes to racism which is why I am asking.

I think that's a little different. Usually, someone not liking you is due to them being around you and getting to know you and they base they're decision off that

Racism is just blind dislike without caring how the person actually carries himself

frick Simmons. I can understand a casual fan not knowing Sterling was a douchebag, but Simmons has known for a while.

So you hold that against them?

Than you are going to be agaisnt a lot of people bc I admit you are a VERY smart person. Not factoring in the human condition aka emotions into the equation seems like a recipe for disaster though IMO.

Like I said though you are smart, just not smart enough to register SlowFlowPro on Twitter MOTHERfrickER BECAUSE I OWN THAT shite BOOM.

She is the one suing him for 1.8 million dollars, I believe. But Sterling's PR people are making it seems as if it's the family that initiated the lawsuit.

great you would have been "yes sir" but answer the question, would it have quited the media on this issue?

Rather folks not be racist to begin with, of course.

I treat everyone the exact same, in person or online, regardless of race. I expect the same from others. Just be your genuine self, is all I ask. If you're racist or have any other problems with me, it'll come out on its own eventually and it can be dealt with then.

IMHO.

huh?

you asked why my opinion should be held and their opinion should be dismissed. that was part of the response

if i say 2+2=4 and they say 2+2=5, then my answer is correct and their answer is wrong. if i got it right b/c i'm smarter, than so be it. i'm holding nothing against them. objective facts are against them

in terms of the players? it should have. they would even have reason to end any press obligations without repercussion

if the players, collectively, said "we're not going to discuss it" then they could avoid press obligations if the press wouldn't stop

So IYO is he "better", I use that word VERY loosely, than closet racists? IMO he is to a certain degree, a small one, because at least he is honest about it for the most part. I would rather know who I am dealing with.

I agree with you that it totally impacts the team. There is a media circus around the team, and I am sure it's a pain in the arse. Rather than discussing how they are going to defend Thompson or Curry, they have to think about the appropriate reaction to protest Sterling's words. They have to make sure their reaction placates both the Jalen Roses of the world and also the older white establishment writers for the LA Times or whatever. It's a fricking nightmare for Paul, Griffin, Doc, etc.

It's also ridiculous for any of them to say "I am shocked our racist team owner who has tried to do everything in his power to evict African-American and Hispanic tenants in his apartments all over LA County said some racist things on tape to his bi-racial sugar baby who is 56 years younger than him and sounds like a caricature of a stripper trying to bring a lonely old man to the $600/hour VIP room."
