Cuban prospect Yoan Moncada will continue to field contract offers from MLB teams over the next two weeks and could make a decision shortly after, his agent told the Los Angeles Times on Tuesday.

“I’m hoping, certainly, that by the end of next week, we’ll have a much clearer picture of where he will sign,” said Moncada’s Florida-based representative, David Hastings. “I’m kind of hoping we’re at the final end of the process. I hope I will be able to get Yoan into a team’s spring-training practice as soon as possible

really looks like it's going to come down to the dodgers and Yankees

It will be a sad banana when the dodgers get him

Dodgers will look dumb trading for Kendrick in that case

I saw some video of him. He looks like a big 2B maybe a fit at 3B. Not sure I see him at SS. He's already 220 lbs and he's just 19 years old.

Would have thought Philly would have gotten really serious...assuming they still believe in the short rebuild.

Moncada wouldn't spend two years in the minors

He's a .273 hitter in Cuba.

Hes going to the bigs at 19?

What comparison is the competitio in Cuba compared to baseball in the States?

I've come to the reasoning that we had a three team trade that just went in stages

I think he ends up at third. Corey ends up at short

He most definitely will. I bet his ETA once he arrives is at the earliest mid to late 2016

Pitching is worse in Cuba than it is here

For comparison sake, look at Puig in Cuba at 19.

.330/17/47

.371 OBP
.425 SLG
.797 OPS

This kid...

.273/3/13

.365 OBP
.406 SLG
.771 OPS

Must be the defense he's renowned for? Or just going to be the first Cuban signed after this rule change to get the ball rolling.

2 years min for him before he hits the show.

just for shits and giggles....to get an idea of Cuban competition...

Jose Abreu at age 23

.453/33/93.

.587 OBP
.986 SLG
1.583 OPS

In 66 games

His potential. The majority of scouts view yoan with a much higher ceiling than they saw in yasiel. Now that really doesn't matter cause puig is now a top 10 positional player in baseball but that is ultimately what I have read the majority of scouts see out of him

The reason I said that he won't spend two years in the minors is because he had made it very clear that a fast track to the majors will weigh hard in the decision of what team he picks. He is good enough to be a September callup at 20 this year. I would expect him to start next season with a big league club.

I'd love to see that.

Howie Kendricks will be 32 in July. We could resign him for maybe 3 years after this season, or turn over the 2B position over to Kiki Hernandez in 2016. I don't think Darnell Sweeney will be ready to play 2B in the bigs in 2016, but who knows?

I wanted them to see them give Alex Guerrero some run. He has a Major League ready bat. I agree that they will regret trading Heaney.
