okay.. so who is going to pitch for the Yankees next season? that staff is dismal.

They'd get one or two guys with the money they would owe CC.

Guess they're gonna just leave CC in to save some of the bullpen.

I don't know what they're going to do. Nova is definitely a guy who you can have in your top 3 in the rotation. A guy who can start playoff games for you.

But that's really all they've got for the future. Don't get me wrong, Garcia was great this year. Colon was very helpful as well. But you obviously can't rely on those guys long term.

I'm not ready to give up on Hughes yet, but without Sabathia, the Yankees would pretty much be left with Nova, Hughes, and Burnett to build a staff around. That's not very good.

I recognize how important CC is to the team. Without him, the Yankees would have struggled to make the playoffs. He eats up a lot of innings. He's great at home. All that. But he still makes too much money for his production.

I'm pretty sure he's going to opt out either way. So if he does, they might have to let him walk and try to patch a staff together. Like you said, maybe Wilson can be that #1 guy for them, with Nova behind him.

I don't know.

Who is starting for Detroit in Game 4? Has that been announced yet?

Not to mention the lineup. Jeter bounced back fine, Granderson and Cano had great seasons, but besides that it was pretty awful.

A-Rod is never healthy and just isn't that good anymore, yet he's tied up for a while longer.

Mark Teixeira is just awful at the plate. Sure, he hits home runs, but he's literally the last hitter on the whole team I want up in a big situation.

I still love Swisher. I'd honestly love to see him hitting 2nd in this series with Granderson hitting cleanup, but we know that can't happen.

5.63 ERA in the playoffs last year
6.14 ERA in the playoffs this year
6.39 ERA against Boston this year

He can pretty much STFU about getting a salary increase.

It won't matter.

The Yankees will probably cave.

Plus, Burnett is throwing.

CC = +7 ERA in Comercia Park.

NYY should have pitched AJ tonight then CC tomorrow if they lost.

That's why Posada is playing this series. He's a patient hitter.

It helps that he's hitting the ball well too.

I threw that out there but everyone said it wasn't a good idea.

I would have definitely thought hard about it.

If anything it might motivate CC a little bit.

And AJ would be throwing with no pressure whatsoever.
