That being said, Taubman should respond to questions in a more appropriate manner.

Oh its totally inappropriate for an executive to slinging profanities and effusively praising a player in that manner. Theres gotta be a level of professional separation between players and executives

Here we go what? Was he guilty or not? Is the Canadian legal system not good enough for you? Is every ruling supposed to come from journalists?

My point is, they don’t just report. It’s like a personal crusade for them.

They will use their media platform not as a sports reporter but as an activist trying to get people fired.

I didnt ask who the victim is, nor did I claim he was a victim. I asked if you thought he was guilty. All of the attention towards him is assuming hes a guilty man. Journalists dont decide guilt or innocence.

It’s kind of wild to me players and execs still celebrate with tons of alcohol around the media. There really isn’t a good solution to it because players aren’t gonna wanna wait to celebrate after media availability but it’s a recipe for bad stuff to happen for sure. I’m surprised you don’t hear about stuff like this more.

Heres one of the "journalists" that confirmed this

all three of them are lying and/or purposely trying to create a false narrative because they know it will stick in today's sick society. they want their name in the paper. they want their pat on the back. the attention. that's what it's about for them.

Because no one in the NY media cares about losing teams.

I dont know how important this Taubman guy is to the organization, but I would imagine if things really played out as the SI writer insists, the Astros wouldn’t have any problem throwing him under the bus and firing him. It’s not like they want extra scrutiny.

Good for you. Now what does that have to do with his guilt or innocence?

What do you propose happen to Osuna? Are the rules set forth by baseball no longer good enough?

Well if that’s the case then I’m inclined to believe the reporters. Still really weird that they wouldn’t publicly reprimand him in any way.

the astros have all the video and audio they could possibly want. if they say it didn't happen, i'm going to believe them.

didn't atkins get his credentials taken away? how was he there to witness it? if he was there to witness it and failed to stand up until now... then he's a pussy

Atkins is a moron and awful writer. I also thought he was banned from the clubhouse

Corporate entities, as the Astros are, generally pussyfoot around bad press and speak in broad generalities to spin some damage control...they certainly did when they acquired Osuna.

In regard to a negative press story like this, you might expect a scripted PR statement like

quote:

The Astros are aware of reports of comments made by an executive following Saturday's ALCS victory. We are conducting an internal investigation and have no further comment at this time.

The writer says in the article that the Astros declined comment to her. Shortly thereafter, they release a statement straight up accusing her of lying. That's ballsy as hell and a PR disaster if you can't prove it. There's a lot of video going on in the clubhouse celebrations...I wonder if the team has video that puts the event into context.

i believe the astros cause i have a hard time believing someone would get in the fact of female media members and start applauding osuna as opposed to simple cheering how well he played and what he meant to the team

i thought this when i read it earlier today but this whole thing reeks of being written by someone who has a bias and is looking to connect dots that arent there and what the astros are saying makes a lot more sense

That's fair. Just seems like when Osuna gets brought up at this point it's only to shite on the Astros organization.
