I feel bad for the kids who are there now and never did anything wrong and are going to get buttfricked. I feel really bad for Al Golden who I think is a tremendous up and coming coach.
This. Word for word.
I'm sure there are kids on the team who would've taken the same benefits, but on the contrary, just like with every other program, there are kids that would deny the benefits and do what's right. Those are the kids I feel sorry for.

I think Miami gets crushed by the NCAA. Mark Emmert has been talking alot of shite about stiffer penalties and swift action.
OSU got off easy because they are a cash cow.
Miami is not relavent in the landscape of college football or anything else I can think of.
The U has a history of this crap and the NCAA is looking for someone to make an example of.

my question is, if the U gets the death penalty, what do all their fans do? do they find another team or just wait for them to come back? I cant imagine what it'd be like to have this happen to my team. thankfullly, I'm a ULL fan and we're definitely not paying our players

Are we happy?
No. Not only is it underwhelming for it to be Miami - seriously, can't they target someone who has won like Bama and Auburn...it's not like once you target them you won't find tons of shite. I seriously think only the ones on top at the time can create change in the system. Then it affects everyone and stirs things up - but the NCAA will waste everyone's time and pass this off as just Miami's problem like they tried to do with USC...6 years after the fact...yawn.
There will be no reform, there will only be new stupid rules and tighter restrictions and the same cycle will occur 10 years from now...what a waste of time.

Les Miles killed that.
They have finished the regular season ranked just once in the last 5 years.

Aubrey Hill
quote:
• On a Friday night in 2008, Hill and recruiting coordinator Clint Hurtt were on hand when three recruits – Andre Debose, Ray-Ray Armstrong and Dyron Dye – were brought to Shapiro’s $6 million Miami Beach mansion for the purposes of the booster recruiting the players. Hill was on hand while Shapiro toured the players through his home and made a pitch to lure their commitment to Miami. Shapiro said the visit – which also included the booster taking the players out in his $200,000 Mercedes S65 – was arranged by Hurtt.
Hill spent three seasons as an assistant coach with the Hurricanes, before leaving this past offseason to join the staff at the University of Florida.

On a Friday night in 2008, Miami assistant coach and recruiting coordinator Clint Hurtt arranged to bring Debose and two other Miami recruits – Ray-Ray Armstrong and Dyron Dye – to Shapiro’s $6 million Miami Beach mansion for the purposes of the booster recruiting the players. Then-wide receivers coach Aubrey Hill also attended the players’ visit to Shapiro’s home.
• During his Friday night recruiting pitch, Shapiro took Debose, Armstrong and Dye through his mansion, stopping at one point to showcase a specially built closet filled with game-worn college and NFL jerseys of former Hurricanes greats. After the tour of the house, Shapiro took the three players for a drive on Alton Road in his $200,000 Mercedes S65.
• After the tour of his home and the ride in his Mercedes, Shapiro gave Miami equipment assistant Sean Allen approximately $2,000 to $3,000 in cash and instructed him to show Debose, Armstrong and Dye a good time. Shapiro said Allen ultimately used the money to take the players to nightclubs, including Take One Cocktail Lounge and strip club.
• Shapiro said Debose, Armstrong and Dye also were at his house for another gathering. Shapiro said the players were served food and drinks. Shapiro said another recruit, Olivier Vernon, was also on hand for this gathering.
• The booster said he also met Debose, Armstrong and Dye at Lucky Strike Lanes on a Sunday, where he watched NFL games and paid for food, drinks and entertainment for the three recruits. Shapiro said he also gave Armstrong one of Sean Taylor’s game-worn Hurricanes jerseys before the three recruits left the bowling alley.
Committed to the University of Florida, where he is expected to be a key sophomore in 2011.
Matt Patchan
quote:
• In 2007, Shapiro hosted Patchan and multiple members of the recruit’s family in his $6 million Miami Beach mansion. The visit was arranged and attended by an assistant coach whom Shapiro refused to name, but who has since been identified by two sources as then-tight ends coach Joe Pannunzio. Shapiro did name then-offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland as also being at his residence when the booster provided a meal to the recruit and his family and helped make a recruiting pitch.
• Shapiro said the recruiting visit at his home was attended by the two Miami coaches, Patchan, Patchan’s mother, Patchan’s father and Patchan’s uncle. The booster said several other Miami football players were also in attendance, including Robert Marve.
Patchan committed to the University of Florida, where he is a backup.
