No. College basketball would only be as awesome as college football if losing one regular season game could end a team's national championship hopes.

The bcs champion is a far far better system than march madness which is the worst way to determine a champion in all of sport probably.

They need to shorten the shot clock and move the three point line back some

And start using quarters instead of just two halves.

I'd go a step further to say AAU ball (and a total lack of teaching fundamentals) and poor officiating (especially guys who can't keep up with the pace of the game) has done more to hurt it. Those two things don't go away with a NBA entry rule change.

No, not really. When's the last time the ninth best team from its own conference won a national championship like UCONN did a few years ago?

As opposed to picking the national championship participants by eye test or who was ranked higher to begin the year?

It's still better than the way college basketball decides its national champions. Being the champion of the NCAA tournament only says that they were the best team in the tournament. If the NCAA really wants to determine the best team in college basketball, they should get rid of all automatic bids and have the regular season champions from each conference battle it out. Why does a team with ten or more losses that didn't win its own conference deserve the same opportunity to win the NCAA tournament as a two or three loss conference champion? They don't.

The NCAA tournament is a good event, but it is total crap as a system to determine the best team.

Plus, it devalues the regular season to the point of it being a waste of time. Cbb sucks, and I love basketball.

see the 1980's through mid 90's. College hoops was really, really good. The players were there at least 3 years it seemed and only the truly elite left early.

You actually got a few years to learn to love a player, watch them more than 15 times, build a fan relationship with the team, actually care what happened to them. There's no doubt there is parity right now because no team that has success is going to be back the next season. If we had a 3 year rule for hoops then top teams would be sick and stay at the top.
