BOOM!

The answer is JR and all you JR panty-sniffers need to see the light. Staying under the nutsack of JR is a losing position.

JR is the biggest NFL bust ever no matter how y'all want to spin it.
In terms of being a #1 pick and the hype generated by this board and his contract. On the field of play however Leaf was worse than Russell

Leaf 25 Games
48.4% Completion Percentage
3666 Yards
14 touchdowns
36 Interceptions
5.6 Yards an Attempt
11.6 Yards a completion
50.0 QB Rating

Russell 31 Games
52.1 Completion Percentage
4083 Yards
18 Touchdowns
23 Interceptions
5.2 Yards an Attempt
11.4 Yards a Completion
65.2 QB Rating

Rick Mirer played 10 years in the league, and threw fifty touchdowns. It's REALLY hard to accidentally throw 50 TD's.

That's like saying Ty Detmer was a terrible QB.

The worst QB to START a game since 1990 (and I think that's where the line should be drawn, IMO) that I can think of is this guy:

With honorable mention to:

Brad Goebel

or

another former Saint, Doug Nussmeier.

I was going to say Jarious Jackson or Henry Burris, but both have been pretty successful in the CFL, so....

I'd suggest, of the QB's who got some playing time in the NFL, the candidates would have to be:

Ryan Leaf,
Jamarcus Russell,
Matt Leinart,
Joey Harrington, and
Rick Mirer

He was listed at 260 when he left LSU. Although, he was probably closer to 275. When he was cut by Oakland he was over 300 lbs, so he has actually lost some weight.
